It never fails... Last caliper, last pin, and I found the most hammered piece of rusty crud. It's crazy how completely seized this pin was. Flew down to O'Reilly's only a few minutes away, and Bob's your auntie.

I just had to hit it with my wallet. At least now I have all new caliper guide pins, boots, and fresh grease.

Remember my first law of repair? Every repair generates an equal and opposite failure. I got the aftermarket headlights sealed, polished and cleared. Not perfect. But way better than they were. I just need my new bulbs to arrive so I can install them.

Now, thanks to Manly's first law of repair, my Yukon decided it was time to leak around the top of the hatch.

I managed to pull the trim off without breaking it. The leak appears to be coming from the rubber gland where the harness goes to the hatch. But the headliner is soaked, making it hard to be sure exactly where it's coming ftom. There are water droplets hanging from multiple places.

There are no obvious tears in the gland, or other failures that stand out. It's supposed to rain all week. So I'll dry everything out and see if I can tell better right after driving, and with no headliner wicking it all up.

If it's not one thing, it's two.

That's a great one!

Sucks about the headliner. The one time I had that, it was the wire boot, opposite the end shown in your picture. Make sure it's square to the body.
It's not very snug on my truck.. and that one time (shortly after running my dashcam wiring though there) a corner or edge had angled away from the body.

I put it in place and it hasn't leaked the next several rains, but the connector/body interface still has no tension.. I don't think I broke any tabs either..
Thinking about siliconing it before winter..

I noticed that, too. It isn't very tight. Interestingly after messing with it last night and getting everything nice and dry overnight, I checked it after my commute in the rain this morning and everything is dry. I may have accidentally fixed it, lol.

4.10s ordered! Went with the Motive performance gear set and Eaton Truetrac. Everything should be here tomorrow but not sure when we will have a chance to get it done. Hopefully in the next few weeks.

Also got some adjustable rear control arms to center the rear end in the fender front to rear (It's too far forward maybe an inch or 2). I think they'll have a few benefits

Speaking of tailgates….;) A few weeks ago my boy hooked the trailer to the tahoe, drove up the property to the driveway and went to load the mower.. welp, he didn’t realize the trailer wasn't seated all the way on the ball and the minute he got the mower up the ramp the trailer flipped up, the chains stopped it and when he backed off the tongue of the trailer came down barely missing the glass and scraped the paint off the hatch, bowtie and handle…. He’s 14 going on 15 in a few weeks (maybe lol)…. He was literally shaking because he thought i was gonna freak out on him and was offering me money and telling me how sorry he was but i told him to relax, it was an accident and now you know to make sure the traiker is completely seated on the ball and the latch is hooked and pinned. He had the latch locked down and pin in but it just wasn’t completely ‘on the ball’ lol….. such is life. Amazing that ive owned this truck since new and any little bumps and bruises are the result of everyone else in my household driving it. You handled that situation very good. Good Dad! Doesn't even matter in the long run.

I figured out how to remove the chrome pieces on my running boards so I can paint them. I’ll soon have the only ones I know of that have a PTM accent stripe. That deletes the last chrome on the truck.

I thought the chrome parts can’t be bought separately from the running boards. Do you have part numbers in case I need to replace one?
edit:found the numbers on the parts themselves- 15914682, 3 , 4 and 5. They’re $300 per side plus shipping! The long ones are $200 and the short ones are $100. Sheesh.

The place gave you a free windshield after all that bs?
Oh yeah. Amazing what a truthful 1 star Google review that explains exactly how I was duped can do. It’s still up and hurting their business. I’m supposed to change it after they replaced it with the right one but they jerked me around so much again they might not like the next review either. They have zero communication and set up a day last week to replace it but the same guy that installed it comes and says he’s here to inspect it. So he looks at it and says yes it’s not shaded, should be. Duh. Wasted a whole day since zero communication, no idea when he was coming. Plus they KNEW what fu@king part they installed. what a bunch of BS. It was 2:00 PM when he showed. So the next review will explain how they suck period.

they are sold as a separate piece, I had to buy 1 for the denali but I am sure it is a different length because it is a xl.
AND I think I had to get it from the dealer, can't find it in my purchase history online anywhere.
slim chance it could have came from rock auto but I doubt it
