1 month later and all caught up :driver: Meticulous is an understatement. Seems you and @Fosscore share some characteristics in perfection  hope the most recent trans issue is something small and you can get back to driving The Beast soon!
Thank you. I did run a check with my Tech2 the other day and no transmission issues showed up on it. I’m not 100% sure if that means anything since the ECU/TCU is one unit on this model year and there isn’t much the Tech2 can do but in the past when I was having issues width the 3-2 downshift solenoid it did show up as an issue using it. So I’m hopeful. It doesn’t make any bad sounds when I start the engine and try to move it through its gears, it just doesn’t want to move the truck. I plan on getting it up on jack stands during the next period of nice weather and starting to diagnose. I guess it’s possible it was the rear or even front diff or transfer case that’s locked up. I’m all done with chemo and have had no side effects but chemo/radiation is next, that will be the entire month of April 5 days a week but its only one hour appointments so it should leave me time to work on it. Hoping for the best for both me and The Beast.

Hey @NickTransmissions I was wondering if you could shed some light on my issue. Something broke in my drivetrain and I haven’t been able to get under it and we what the issue is due to health and weather. I’m trying to see if my Performabuilt Level 3 4l60e is the culprit by hooking up my Tech2 to see if there’s any codes and to try to diagnose a failure in the trans. My question is- if I blew the transmission would the Tech2 tell me ? Wouldn’t there be at least a code or two? All I know is when I floored it and it downshifted from 3-2 I felt something break and I was only able to make it a few blocks before the truck eventually wouldn’t move. I had to get off the expressway so I pulled into the nearest parking lot and seemed like I had to manually downshift it to keep moving and it soon killed the engine. After sitting for awhile waiting for the tow truck, I could put it into gear but it won’t move. The engine doesn’t die though. Now it’s been home for a couple months. The transmission didn’t overheat when this happened. Any light you can shed on this would be appreciated. The Tech2 doesn’t show anything wrong with the transmission, at least not that I can see.

Your scan tool isnt going to tell you what parts physically broke in your powertrain or drive train. It will only tell you if data being received from one or more nodes in your vehicle's network is reporting anomolous data (or no data when it should be).

You have to get hands on when it comes to stuff breaking to find out what broke.

I understand it wont tell me what parts broke, but IF parts are broke in the transmission wouldn’t it throw codes or at least say something in the trans isn’t working? Wouldn’t it say SOMETHING regarding it? BTW the transfer case is non electronic so the only “node” as far as the drivetrain goes is what is available through the TCM.
If the solenoids, speed sensors or IMS (09+) develop a fault or the PCM and/or TCM "senses" a voltage anomaly in one or more of transmission internal electrical components, it will throw a code. It will also throw a code if the transmission fluid temp sensor ceased working properly (pressure switch manifold assy for 93-08; harness for 09+).

You may also see a gear ratio error code if applied elements cease to work properly as well but it's not common to see in the longitudional 4 speed transmissions.

But hard part failure (shaft breakage, sun shell, sprag, gear train, pump failure) usually wont throw a code since the PCM has no way to monitor or isnt programmed to "see" it, especially the non-TSS 4L60Es...

The truck has developed a leak on the driver side, carpet got real wet. I bought a dehumidifier to dry it out. I’ve been working on the Tahoe I bought, lowering it, putting a stereo in it etc - relatively easy stuff-but haven’t got under this one to do anything. I was hoping the weather would dry out and I would get a chance in between treatments to get under there but a couple weeks ago they went inside my bladder to have a look before starting radiation and found another small tumor so on Wednesday I’m going in for another TURBT operation to remove it. They want all traces gone before I start radiation so that’s been pushed back a couple three weeks. It’s been a long struggle and it just got longer. Hanging in there.

I decided I’ll swap the wheels from The Beast to the Tahoe and that way I wont be able to stand to look at it like that and I’ll start on it. I figured to wait until after all my cancer treatments are done anyway and today was my last chemo infusion and next Monday will be my last day of radiation at which point we are calling it a win. there is no way to ever know if bladder cancer is in complete remission because there still isnt anything that can scan for cancer in a bladder with any real certainty. The only way to check is to go inside with a camera and look, and biopsy as well as they can look for cancer cells in the urine. So every 3 months for the first year they’ll look, and once a year for the next 5 or more. I’ll have all summer off, and in September I’m scheduled for them to put me out when they go in for the first look. My urologist wants to be ready to remove anything just in case there is anything. So just to summarize, July I peed bloody urine and freaked out, went to urgent care. They ordered a bunch of tests, sent me to a urologist where he went inside with a camera and I watched as he found 5 tumors, once of which was right where my prostate touches the bladder and looked way different than the others. It turned out, that one was small cell bladder cancer, a super aggressive type that had them immediately decide to remove my bladder and prostate and they started talking about being up against the clock. They also determined that I was stage 3 due to this. I did a quick check- small cell bladder cancer by itself has a 40% survival rate over 5r years. And I also had that second type of bladder cancer- which further complicates things. Very little is known about the small cell- its only 2-3 % of bladder cancers detected. And so even less is known about having both types. I did my research, weighed the pros and cons of different options and asked my oncologist if trimodal bladder saving treatment was viable for me. That would be surgery to remove tumors, regular full 12 week chemo regimen followed by 4 weeks of light chemo every Monday with combined with radiation to the bladder and prostate which is done Monday-Fridays then follow up checkups if all goes well. This round is only a 20- minute radiation dose. The drive is the worst part of that. So I’m nearly at the end of treatment, the rest will be a cruise. Today was from 8:30 this morning to 5:30 and then the drive home. Mostly sitting around and visiting with my sister who I haven’t spent enough time with the last few years. Anyway, thank you people for being part of my world. A car forum might seem like a strange place to read about someone’s cancer but my build threads will be here forever, I’m not doling out personal info and this place has always been a cool and safe place for me for many years. And I want this journey I;m taking to be open and a part of who I am. My advice for anybody is to advocate for yourself especially when it comes to pushing to get cancer screening if you fall into any of the high-risk categories like I did. I smoked cigarettes for 40 years as well as drank heavily. If it’s caught early enough it can b e cured, unfortunately insurance companies in the US think its better to put out fires rather than prevent them so its not being caught until its stage 3-4 when its too late because they deny imaging or tests. Anyway, 5 more 20- minute radiation blasts and I’m done! If you read all the way through this long ass post , I thank you. I’m still here and will be for the foreseeable future so if there’s anything I can help with in regards to your GM SUV or pickup, let me know. :happy107: :favorites37:

Thank God you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm really happy they caught it in time and so far have been successful with your treatments. This is a pretty great forum--the best one I've ever found and have been fortunate to have been a part of. I've encountered some pretty awesome people here over the years--including you old man--and I'm pretty grateful for that. Keep fighting the good fight Mark. Over the years I've learned that a good attitude has a lot to do with healing--and you definitely have that. Here's to success brother :party33::pepper:and to kicking cancer's ass!!

The spacers worked. There’s about 1/8” clearance. The GM wheels taper at the outside so the further in they go the smaller that diameter is for calipers. They weren’t thinking about big brakes when they designed them. The reverse stance looks weird but it rolls. Still haven’t figured out what’s wrong, I have a few things going on and I’ll get to it.
