Re Subaru: Thats what happens when Toyota gets involved. They have gotten so much more difficult to work on. I used to be a big fan of Subaru. Then GM started screwing them up, and then Toyota finished the job.

Re IROC: Moog control arms are about 92 bucks at Summit (I think). Where as the Bushings are 50 bucks. I agree that Moog is not as good as they used to be. But I hate just replacing bushings on something that is nearly 40 years old!

I just looked at Summit and there are no Moog lower control arms listed at all. I found this set at ebay but I had to send a contact to seller to see if these fit an 86 Camaro IROC Z28 with the Macpherson Strut set up instead of a standard upper control arm. Waiting to hear back.

I just wanted to see what they looked like. Back in the day I had quite a few F-Bodies. All the suspension is basically the same, from 82-92--whether it's a base model or a high performance version. Of course there's differences, but the basic architecture is the same. They all had McPherson struts in the front with shocks in the rear.

Clicked on my supplier link for Summit, and nothing.. Weird.

Just a point on these F-Bodys, remember they love to eat the rear axle bump stops. If it aint bad now, it will be soon! Something to check for your customer.

The manager at my taco place I go to on Tuesday and Thursday, told me her mother's 03 Camry SE 3.0 would not idle right and would die in gear at idle intermittently. I went to check for CEL and there was none but I could duplicate her concerns. I opened the hood and saw the problem immediately. A brand new battery just installed about a week ago. She hardly ever drives the car. I changed the scanner to live data and the short trims were way negative and showed no readings at all on long trims. I knew it was gonna need a reset on the ECU. I got the engine completely warmed up, set the park brake and put my foot on the brake and put it in drive and sat there for about 6 minutes. At first the rpm's were below 400 and acted like wanted to die and tach needle was floating a little. Then it started to climb and settled at close to 700 rpm. After 6 minutes I took it on a 40 mile round trip. The fuel trims went to spot on and the rpm's were between 680 and 700, stopped in gear at lights. I parked it and handed the keys to the mom. I will be getting free tacos for several days now.

I get the double entendre here. Great tacos that actually fill the large shell and lots of tomatoes and she is a sweetheart and have known her for years. I work on her 2008 Toyota 4Runner, her husband's 2011 Chevy truck and her son's Mazda 2007 Mazda 3 Sport. Plus her mother's 2003 Camry SE and she sends work my way from any of her customer's that come in. If I do 1/2 hour's work for her for $40, that equates to 5 taco meals but her cost for the meals is way less than the $40. It is a win win. All I ever get is 3 tacos and either a cup of coffee or Pepsi. That is an $8.00 meal.
