The last corner I did was driver front. Cruising along checking things out whilst getting the shock assembly out and what do I see? A sway bar missing it's end link
SO, I picked up another one last night and will throw it on this weekend and be sure that it's 100% tightened down with all the torques applied whilst tightening
Smacked assThrew on the shocks on all four corners yesterday and she drives great! I didn't notice any excessive harshness or anything so I'm very happy with that. Bilsteins on the back and the monroe quick-strut package up front.
While in there I did a thorough look over of everything else and everything looks to be in tip top shape.......except.......The last corner I did was driver front. Cruising along checking things out whilst getting the shock assembly out and what do I see? A sway bar missing it's end link
SOME JACKWAGON (me) apparently didn't tighten it down good enough when he replaced them right after we bought the deathscalade and the thing auto ejected at some point

Escaladed.Well that escalated quickly…. Lol
Escaladed.
At least it wasn't Deathscaladed!
Not sure if it was from when the brakes got hot coming down Pike's Peak or what but the hubs I put on over the winter lasted for sh$t so I got some new hub assemblies (supposed to be a "good brand") threw them on last night along with new rotors (pads still had a lot of life left in them). I'm getting really tired of hub assemblies not lasting regardless of what brand you use! For the last 3-5 years I can't get any hubs to last more than 20k miles and it's pathetic. I usually try and get OEM parts any time I'm replacing a worn part so that I get "quality" but in my experience here recently all hub assemblies are junk and don't last for nothing.
Another upside to this rig is it's not corroded like a lot would be at this age so I don't have to fight rusted fasteners too much on this which is pretty surprising. That funeral home must have had a policy of no burying dead folks when they throw salt on the ground

No need for salt on the roads in that situation; the dead folks are already the salt of the earth.![]()

I'll do last rear brakes and headlight bulbs this week. This thing has the $100 bulbs and one of them turned pink on me last weekSo, I bent over and grabbed my ankles and ordered 2 units so that the headlights matched.
On the upside, a couple weeks ago I replaced both running board motors and those things are working flawlessly nowAnother upside to this rig is it's not corroded like a lot would be at this age so I don't have to fight rusted fasteners too much on this which is pretty surprising. Precision from O’Reilly because at the time I needed them right then and couldn’t order Timken. I was in the middle of traveling at the time. You gotta remind us what brand hubs those were and how long they lasted!
I just replaced a Timken after "only" 84K miles.
