04 blew up what now

Long time no see peeps I know haven't posted on here in a bit. Well "my brothers girlfriend" killed there yukon. Now there saying thay don't want it. So it's ours again we're going to go take a look at it and see what is up just hoping they didn't punch a whole through the pan.

It's a 2500 so 4l90 there plus they "checked" the dipstick and it was glittery. I'll have more info after the holidays.

We're not 100% sure but it apparently had an oil leak and the brod never let us know. It's a 2500 and they apparently checked the dipstick when it started giving them bad issue and it was glittery

How did you end up with a 4L90? I thought they only place 4L80s in the SUVs?

Probably fat fingered the 9 instead if the 8. I do it quite often myself.

Swap a junkyard 6.0 engine and keep on trukin' would be my vote.

If it's a rust free rig, have them sign over the title. Then put a junk yard motor in it. After that all works well, service EVERYTHING ELSE due to their neglect and then run it.

If it's a rusty pile, junk it or part it put. F that trouble

It's ours so I've thought about putting a 5.3 in it and calling it a day that's still a lot of work.

Should be all the same--4.8, 5.3 and 6.0.

Edit Well we found out that our trust worthy local mechanic that will rebuild the engine. So after the holidays are over we're going to get back here.

No doubt you are happy with your mechanic choice but, how was it determined that he/she is trustworthy? Recommended by friends? Have you checked for certifications and reviews?

I'd think 4.8's would be more plentiful since no one really wants those. That makes them cheaper too.
