thats a common issue with aftermarket HU and flashing a tune, they create interference with in the system. even the factory radio can cause it to happen with this gen gm truck. like mine, i cant flash a tune on hi speed, have to use low speed. but your deal was different as it would work then quit when scanning the data log. as long as its all working right now, its all water under the bridge as they say lolAgreed, 1st tuner was a moron.
This tuner had to disconnect my Pioneer DD radio. After doing that the tune downloaded with no issues. I asked why he didn't just take the fuse out. He said he wasn't sure if it was wired correctly and it was just easier to unplug the complete radio. Idk, but it worked out for him.
I'm just glad this guy was smart enough to figure it out.thats a common issue with aftermarket HU and flashing a tune, they create interference with in the system. even the factory radio can cause it to happen with this gen gm truck. like mine, i cant flash a tune on hi speed, have to use low speed. but your deal was different as it would work then quit when scanning the data log. as long as its all working right now, its all water under the bridge as they say lol

and here I was about to razz @Tonyrodz for having a janky HU install.
Tried driving the Hoe last night. I had replaced the serpentine belt maybe a week ago. I bought the same belt that was on there, which was a little bigger then stock because the original size didn't fit, due to me getting a larger output alternator. The original sized belt wouldn't go on, it was too small after the new alternator. I'd, maybe the pulley was a different size. While driving it I got the "Hot Coolant Temp". Would a wrong sized belt cause it to overheat? Maybe due to the belt slipping? The belt also squealed a few times while accelerating--which its never done before? I was thinking of getting the original sized belt to see if it would fit this time.

It threw the old belt. I thought it might've been the new belt was too big, so I got a smaller belt. The belt sizes were all messed up because I installed a 160 amp alternator awhile ago and it must've had a bigger pulley on it. I couldn't get the old belt back on, so I had to get a bigger belt. The whole situation is a pita. So now putting on the smaller belt was tough, but got it on. Took it for a ride, it was fine--until I romped on it, it threw the belt. Now what I think is happening is possibly the tensioner has too much play. I replaced it probably 2 yrs ago--but it doesn't have much driving time on it.What happened?
The tensioner looks normal while running. Can you flip the throttle to see if it throws the belt, put yourself in a safe spot just in case...It threw the old belt. Does there look like there's too much play? Side to side?
It's the only thing I can think of.
How's it look to you guys?
Alternator pulley looks good. The tensioner looks normal while running. Can you flip the throttle to see if it throws the belt, put yourself in a safe spot just in case...
Have you checked the alternator pulley alignment? Maybe that's the issue if the problem showed up after your replace it?
I just checked the tensioner of one of my trucks. I only measured 10-20 thousands and looks like it's in the actual plastic wheel. Not a lot of movement. Looking at your video again looks a lot more on yours.Alternator pulley looks good.
How's the tensioner look in the 1st video? There's side to side play. I'm not sure if you can really tell in the video.
I think when I floor it suddenly the pulleys probably jump/jerk causing to throw the belt. That's just my guess.
i think the tensioner is the root of your belt tossing.
Thanks for checking yours out. Pretty sure that's the issue, but it isn't really oldI just checked the tensioner of one of my trucks. I only measured 10-20 thousands and looks like it's in the actual plastic wheel. Not a lot of movement. Looking at your video again looks a lot more on yours.
