I recently got 4 new speakers, GM, from RA for my girl's 2002 TrailBlazer. Price was fair and sounded great. If you read all the info for that UQ3 speaker, it sounds like you should be ok: Should probably get that connector to be safe: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=945645&cc=1431230&pt=2616&jsn=1074&jsn=1074&jsn=1074
They did not have the GM connector but this aftermarket connector cross references to the 12101825 suggested connector

Fits Front Side Door; Mating Connector w/ Leads Use 12101825; Enhanced Speaker System (UQ3)
or Front Side Door; Mating Connector w/ Leads Use 12101825; 4 Speaker System (UQ5), Power SIDE WINDOWS MAY INCLUDE REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY (5B5)

Also, from what I see, if it has 2 speakers and one is a separate tweeter, the second speaker number I gave you should be it.

Do you have just one or two speakers? If one speaker feeds the other with power to work, and the upstream speaker is bad, your scenario could be relevant. In the pics it looks like two separate speakers. How is yours set up?

I thought there was a small tweeter. I'll get back to you.

So I pulled the door panel and couldn't find any loose connections. Is there a fuse for that? What does the "dinger" have to do with everything? The wire umbilical seems okay too.
You can basically have three problems. (in descending probability) e
Either the output of your power amplifier or the radio is defective and there is no sound at all.
Or your wiring harness to the speaker has a problem. This often happens in the door area, where the wiring harness is regularly bent back and forth when the door is opened.
Or your speaker is deceased.

And as QR VietVet wrote, you can test harness and speakers with this Dinger, which I also didn't know that that runs through the left speaker...

So, yes it has a tweeter. Does the tweeter need to connected in order for the big speaker to work?

I didn't know that all the dinger/tone warnings noises came thru the driver's door speaker till I had the speakers problem on my girl's TrailBlazer and a member at GMTNation cued me in. One of the very helpful member's there is also a member here. It is @TollKeeper. There are some very knowledgeable members there and they have helped me immensely on the TB my girl owns.

With you having the base radio, I am not sure there is the built in cross over for the A-Pilar tweeter. So the question is, why is the speaker there, when you dont have the uplevel audio?? Maybe the assembly line installed the wrong part? Didnt have the correct A-Pilar trim, and they used what they had? Who knows!

You could wire in the tweeter, but you will change the power draw, and ohm of the line for the radio, and since the crossover isnt there, the tweeter would also be trying to play all the tones that its not designed for.

Leave it out would be my suggestion.

Dont forget, you can also replace the speaker MUCH cheaper thru eBay, Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, or a local salvage yard.

Thanks! Its not in the pillar, it's just right above the bigger speaker in the door. I thought it odd it's not connected though and was just considering wiring it in too. But, you bring up a good point, may be too much draw. I didn't miss it before. Just ordered two speakers from RA. The other one was starting to come apart. I thought about just getting a couple aftermarket speakers and mounting them but the wifey wants to keep it stock since it sounded good before. Here's a shot of the unit.
