Good morning,

When I bought my 2023 Denali, I was a bit disappointed that whenever I turned the fog light on with the DRLs, the DRLs would dim.

BUT

I recently had some work done on the truck, and they must have updated the truck somehow. Now, when I turn the fogs one, the DRL continue to be bright! Truck looks so great now during the day. I never messed with the always-on fix that people suggest, because it's muscle memory to hit the fog switch after I start the truck.

Hope this helps someone else, because that used to drive me crazy.

Speaking of updates, I saw an Update YES/NO? message flash on my 2022 Denali screen the other day. I had already touched the off button and lost it. It has never reappeared. I am wondering if it did an OTA update automatically or when will it ask me again? Anybody know how I can request an OTA update or check to see if I had one already? I do not see it in the Menus.

Go to settings, then system and scroll down to vehicle software and there should be an updates button to press to take you to an uodate screen and it should look for any updates for your vehicle and that should allow you to update it then, or you can schedule how you want to do the update

From gm site. If you choose “Decline/Delete,” you will not be reminded again and the update will not occur. Instead, you can take your vehicle to your dealer to perform the update at a later time.

So your vehicle doesnt check for updates if you go to the screen? Mine does, however i have yet to see any updates for my vehicle. It is a 23 though so that may be why.

I’ve checked for updates a couple times in the last week and have had none yet. Pretty sure mine will need this one; and OTA have been accepted; because I’ve gotten one before. Give it a week or two, it may take a while for it to hit.

Thanks for the info. Vehicles sure are different from the "old days", but I am glad to have all the new stuff. Still getting used to it and still on the learning curve.

Might have to run a manual update to see if it pushed to my AT4...as that bugs the shit out of me <dimming aspect>. I can only assume this is for all and not just Denali..?

Probably. I have only noticed one other driver with the fogs on, and DRL dimmed. They probably didn't know. That, too, was a Denali.

I looked for an update on my 22 AT4 but it said I was current with all updates. My DRLs dim when I hit the fog lights and it drives me nuts! Hoping to get this fixed soon!
