Morning all. I have a 2005 Tahoe.
I'm wondering if any if you have ever swapped the factory fog light housings out for aftermarket spot and/ or flood lights? I am thinking of doing this as my new worksite is in the middle of nowhere and we have to drive through what seems to be endless miles and miles of roadway with no street lights nor businesses around. I figure that just swapping the fog housings shouldn't create any issues. I previously did the aftermarket route of installing some spots off brackets near the bottom of the windshield, but I hated the glare off my hood. They're now just there, and I don't use them.
If you have done this:
Did it require any modifications to your vehicle to mount them?
Were you able to mount them to the frame, or did you have to use mounting brackets?
Did you tap into the existing foglight wiring, or did you run your own harness?
Would you recommend others to do this or stay away from the idea?
Also, if you haven't done this, I still want to hear your thoughts about the idea.
