I think Cheech Marin did that in a movie once.

That's how my '89 Burby felt when I parked her replacement '90 next to her.

On one hand, I put in a new alternator (Genuine GM part) today.

On the other hand, truck wouldn't do a thing but lock/unlock the doors once I was done. Did a bunch of troubleshooting with no success. She's at the shop now

:banghead:
We’ll, learned something that a lot of you probably already knew. That thing on top of the battery I used to think was just power distribution block. Well, it’s actually a fused block that has little fuses in the metal strips. When one blows you gotta replace the whole thing. As luck would have it there’s a national back order on them. SO, we jumpered the thing with an external fusible link to get me back up and running again. I learned something new :flipthebird: this is one reason why I prefer my old stuff lol

I wish I could determine what model these XD wheels are that came on thethirdtwin. They 18”, but the spare is a standard 17” with temp use tire.

I emailed XD to find out which they are. No reply so far.

Opened up the dash and console to remove a dead 3G (woo hoo) cell booster. The outside antenna cable and mount was reused for a ham antenna. I also pulled some power cable through the console to help with a future radio install.

How’s all the wiring back there? I have no experience with ppvs. But my work van was previously owned by a utility company and the amount of spaghetti shoved behind the dash was ungodly. They removed all their equipment and just buried what they could

This one isn’t a PPV, but it did have some additional cut and tuck wiring in place. That’s why I ended up getting into it so much.

Both of my PPVs came from the same agency, but it was obvious a different tech did the decommissioning. Theothertwin featured heavy cut and tuck wiring. Thecopcar had almost all the add on and factory PPV wiring cut out.

The lights in the picture in my hands are not fog lights. They are the Baja S2 pro lights and what I am using as "ditch lights". They are installed on hood mount brackets at the A pillar locations. Look at the picture again. They are the smaller rectangular lights just above the fenders near the windshield. The fog lights that are installed are the OEM GM fog lights with yellow LAMIN-X overlays.

here is a zoomed in picture of the "ditch lightView attachment 223956 View attachment 223956 View attachment 223956 "

cheers!
Did you have a link for the ditch light brackets by chance?

Tried to have my windshield replaced by safelite today after a rock cracked the corner, but the guy showed up with a new OEM windshield that didn't have the blue strip along the top. So now they'll have to order that and re-schedule.

He also said he couldn't recalibrate the lane assist because my tires are 275/70's instead of the stock 265/65's.
He states that I'd need to have the dealer recalibrate it, and I feel like I'm going to get bounced around and they'll say they cant do it either because the tires, or they'll make me pay for the re-calibration etc

Man on man, this weekend I was checking the jack storage in the back and I fumbled the damn jack and smacked the l/r glass. Didn't crack thank god, and I got that thick static cling 5% tint back there that I think helped take most of the shock. Got real lucky on that one for sure!!
