Grille and lights were an even trade between us. I had just sold the old 16 Silverado rims and tires, along with my stainless bull bar for $80.For what it is worth, I agree with your preference as well. Hopefully you can sell the take-offs for a little cash.
How much of a drop are you all using for a receiver? My Tahoe is lifted 3" and the 2" drop I have now makes my boat sit really high in the front. I was thinking of going to a 4" but possibly 6" to keep my boat level while pulling it. I guess I could try it out.
Guy flaked on me--said it was already sold and no one took it out of inventory.Just bought a used rear for $350.

Its a reese receiver/hitch. But it fits the factory location. Are you using an OE hitch? My stock '04 needs a couple inches of rise since the OE receiver is under the bumper.
Today, driving one of the 4 trips back and forth to school for the kiddo, I noticed my charger light come on… uh oh..

About 6 months ago, when I did my efan conversion, I also did the alternator, serpentine belt, a/c Idler, and belt, pretty much everything but the water pump up front.. the battery however is dated 2017.. so rolled to the auto parts store, the battery tested bad, and $300 or so later, I left with a new Optima Red Top, to replace the old one ..
Replaced.. and still not charging.. dammit..

Tested the voltage from the alternator stud while running, and measured 11.58v. (Thanks for the suggestion @Fless!) so my 6 month old refurbished AC Delco was already shot.. contacted Summit, who I ordered from, and it’s on back order (of course).. so for now, I have a cheapie that’s getting the job done. I’ll hang onto it for the next time. Sheesh.

I would have thought they might pick up on a weak or dead alternator during their testing. Don't those test routines look at both the performance and function of the battery and alternator when those guys do these tests? I thought it was part of the fool-proof step by step process guided by prompts on the tool.Today, driving one of the 4 trips back and forth to school for the kiddo, I noticed my charger light come on… uh oh..

Even though it was about 5 years old, I am wondering how bad that battery really was. On the up side, you won't have to worry about the battery for a while...
Sometimes a bad battery will have real low internal resistance and that will cook the alternator. So maybe the battery took out the alternator? Only good thing is that you still have the conventional charging system.
