What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I'm gonna weld mine for sure, now that I have so much money in this thing. I have an old Lincoln stick welder, but I need to run the plug for it. I think I might be able to hook it up to the old storm shelter/shed power that got dug up. I've watched my dad's buddy weld in rockers and cab corners, but I have minimal welding experience, at least with thin material.

It was looking like patch panels are pretty pricey even for a diy

Maybe try cutting some good panels off a wreck at the yard?

Stopped over at the shop to grab my hitch to pull my boat this weekend. Mostly torn down, still need the inner panels removed and welded in. Not bad progress for being there only 5 days.

That’s a real good view of what salt on the roads does to a vehicle over time. Makes me glad again that that’s not used here except in a couple places.

That's what my buddy said, it's definitely on the table, idk if the pick and pulls in KC let you Sawzall out body panels, but it's definitely worth a shot

That's what my buddy said, it's definitely on the table, idk if the pick and pulls in KC let you Sawzall out body panels, but it's definitely worth a shot

I'd think they'd be ok if it's something that'll go to the crusher anyway--like lower door sills, or 1/4 panels, but won't let you cut a lower panel off a good fender or door.

I am willing to bet, that anything sitting in a yard anywhere in New England, has nothing left to cut!

It would probably still be on the road, if it was able to pass RMV inspections.

Back to normal.. and the spare fits in its well. Woohoo. Now I have a functional spare. Lol. Also got these clear turn lenses (Depo) yesterday, which should hopefully match my upcoming heads…

Replaced left rear window regulator, replaced/relocated backup camera from hitch receiver to right below liftgate. Much better view and can see hitch ball better When hooking up trailer. Also replaced led tail lights with “C” style led tubes. Cracked the old one with a piece of wood last week.

Tail lights look fantastic! Did they come with hyperflash resistors you had to wire in or was it plug and play?

Plug and Play. Resister already wired and attached to back of light. They are Spyder brand marked Sonar on the lights themselves.

Same here! Nothing rust free in the yards. Plus, it’s easier to piece together patch panels rather than recycle used panels.

Plug and Play. Resister already wired and attached to back of light. They are Spyder brand marked Sonar on the lights themselves.

I checked out Spyder lighting.... ( seems like nice stuff)...... But, no where is a picture of their Yukon projector fog lights installed. ..I bought a while ago, the Morimoto HID fog kit... and it's still in the box. ( procrastinating)..... The Spyder fogs seem nice but no information on how they actually perform.

Last fall, I traded away a really nice set of Torque Thrust 20 in rims for a set of beat-up 16 inch Silverado rims from the late 90's/early 00's. Reason was the 20s had 285/50 performance street tread tires. Too fat and too slick for our New England winter, in my opinion.

So, I took the 16 beater rims, because they had much narrower 245/70 tires. Better to slice through slop and snow than the fat slicks I had on the 20s.

This is what I got in my free swap... Edges chewed up on two of them. Doubt a tire shop would risk mounting new tires on these.

Was lurking on Craigslist for wheels/tires for several months. Anything under $400 had rough wheels and bad tires. Anything with fair wheels and bad tires was about $500. Anything with good wheels and fair tires was up to $600. Good wheels and good tires were about $800. Great wheels with great tires run $1200 and up.

With no real plan to pull the trigger on anything last night, I stumbled on someone in the same town listing these off of his 2013 Tahoe for $175! I jumped right away and seller was happy to sell to another townie and not have to make long-distance delivery meetings out of state.

I'm picking up Friday. I'll post pics on my 04 Z71 when I get them on.

True. But with Lincoln's head sideways, the distance to his nose is quite a bit more than the distance to the top of his head when he's upside down. Distance to the nose looks like it is at least twice the distance to the top of his head. So not even close to his nose... Means I got plenty of tread for at least the next year.
