I like that cargo sill! Is that from GMC?
Yep, I ordered directly from the GMC site and had it delivered to my dealer. It had led strips on each side that light up, just hard to tell from picture. I had a bunch of points on GMC rewards that helped.

What’s odd is Chevy Tahoe has the rear sill, door sills, and side mirror light logo as part of their ‘illumination package’ GMC everything is ala cart.

I might do the door sills in a month or two, for some reason GMC limits the amount of rewards points to use, I think I still have like $100 left.

Gave my ride her first bath today... Unfortunately, I unwittingly bought a pack of towels that weren't too absorbent, so it took me multiple passes to completely dry my AT4 off. Later on today, I stopped by the store to get some chamois, to make my life some much easier the next time I give her a bath.

Today I tried registering it with the DMV. My paperwork was found in the commercial vehicle managers office for some reason. Anyway they retrieved it, and told me that I need to get a smog check and I had to get a visual inspection. When I tried to smog it, the guy told me that my vehicle is so new, he can't get it to clear. He said it had something to do with an oxygen sensor not being worn in enough. He recommended that I drive it for a few days to get some miles on it, so the sensor can adapt and give him a clear reading... At least I have the paperwork, in case law enforcement tries to stop me.

I had the illuminated GMC logo and new rear cargo sill installed today.

My out of state dealer finally mailed me the OEM wheel locks they owed me after a month so put those on as well.
Is that the illuminated rear cargo sill? Do you have the part number by chance? Looks great!

Today I overtook a speedster trying to cut in front of me from the "right turn only" lane besides me. Damn it felt good beating him to the point where he had to stop or rear end a parked car. I really pushed my 6.2 today, and I'm very happy for it. Today was a reminder on why I made the right decision in choosing that 6.2 engine over the 5.3. (no offense to the 5.3 crowd)

It feels good until the next idiot crashes into you rather than rear-end the person in front of them.

Here's a nice lesson for ya.....at the end of the day you may not be at fault and his insurance will pay for the damages.....but you'll have to live with a car that now has a CARFAX history of repaired damages and it may not drive the same no matter how great the mechanic is.....and your insurance will eventually go up (no matter how they advertise if you're not at fault).

Oh yeah, and now your car value just dropped a ton too. Hope you didn't plan in selling it for a quick flip!

I live in an area where there is always traffic build up in rush hour at this 1 specific turn with a traffic light that has a a long wait. People always to to sneak in front of a snoozer to get ahead of the line. Some people will just blatantly cut you off no matter how little distance you have in front of the car ahead of you. You'd be surpised how many people will rather get into an accident than just let someone cut them off. Makes no sense to me.

This is one of the reasons the 5.3 was perfectly fine for me. Not only is driving aggressively like this asking for an accident but then there’s the whole issue of road rage and not knowing what the person in that car next to you is capable of. Add all this to the most important fact that I have two kids in car seats riding with me 95% of the time and it’s clear there are much more important things in life than feeling big for not letting someone cut you off.

I'm not some runny-nosed kid living off daddy's trust fund and buying expensive vehicles and other toys to show off, young man. You might want to save the life lesson lectures for cocky people under 40... which I'm way past (40).

There's nothing wrong with testing the limits of your brand new vehicle. If you paid for it, enjoy it... Now being consistently reckless is an entirely different conversation.

And by the way I live in Los Angeles, so I know a thing or two about traffic. Unless you're driving the freeways between 3AM and 5AM, there's no other time of day here where you won't run into traffic.

laugh out loud. I have no idea what this even means or if it's even directed at me.

But you're 100% going to get into an accident when you try to one-up with idiots behind the wheel.

trust me, when someone wants to cut you off badly....just let them do it. I've seen it happen so many times when the defensive driver becomes aggressive and they end up getting into an accident.

like i said, it won't be your fault but you still have to deal with it

Exactly. It's not even the road rage part of it either - which I agree with you. Never look to take business outside the car because yuo rally have no idea what someone is capable of doing.

But with Someone looking to cut you off and you trying to stop it by flooring ahead of them is going to result in an accident more times than not. I see it happen all the time. I live in NY. You have to be somewhat aggressive and cutting people off at times is necessary. But when it's at the situation he described...let them have their day. So what, 1 car got in front of you. you'll likely see him pulled over later on driving because he hit someone else.

The alternative is the moron trying to cut you off decides to crash into you because he didn't think you had it in you to block him.

The point I was raising was that he didn't have nearly the amount of power in his vehicle than I had in the Yukon... And no, I'm never one of those drivers looking to show off and race someone. I'm way, way, WAY past those years. I only use that extra boost of power when I need it.

I just surpassed the 500 mile mark on my odometer yesterday, so that mini race was a perfect opportunity to see what that 6.2 can do, that's all.

Today my Yukon is officially registered as a licensed vehicle in the state of California. It was a two-week process that had me driving around town trying to put miles on it for the smog center to pass it. Everything else on the vehicle passed except for two Oxygen sensors that wouldn't calibrate correctly. And wouldn't you know, they were the most important devices needed to pass smog. Similar instances happened to the smogger recently with brand new vehicles, so he knew how to remedy that issue.

After I got home from the DMV, I tried to create a personalized license plate, but I guess the vehicle registration is too new for me to request a personalized license plate. I'll give it a try again over the weekend.

Yeah and he also has less to lose than you do if his car is a piece of crap.

If he’s insured and get into an accident; his insurance may go up a little bit but he’s not on the hook to pay for all of your car damages. And I’m sure he can care less about his car being fixed. Or if he’s not insured and he has no money..than you’re more screwed because no lawyer will go after someone without any insurance or money to their name.

it is even more the reason to stay away from people who like idiots, especially those who drive crap cars.
