Are C300’s fast? I’ve never raced one.

According to Google it only makes like 241hp, does 0-60 in 6.1sec, and the 1/4 mile in 14.6sec. Not fast by any means but neither is my 5,500lbs brick plus it has a Benz badge on it and he looks like a cocky Dbag in his moms car so I count it as a good win lol.

Picked up a TPMS stem from Discount Tire, of course, all 4 of mine were reading correctly when I got there so they couldn't identify the trouble maker but the manager is cool and he let me dig through their shop supplies to find what I needed. I cut the ends off and the threaded portion threaded right into the radiator port like it was meant to be. This should be enough of a restriction to let the truck heat up properly.

Scored a nice win tonight against the 2018ish C300 Benz that I have been trying to line up against for a few months now. In his typical D bag fashion he was weaving through traffic behind me only to get caught at the same light I did. He was obviously eager to blast past me when the light turned green because he was inching forward every second or so nosing far past the stop line. With his windows down and vape firmly in his grasp the lights turned green and I first gear treed his ass good with a quick clutch slip then throttle stab! The Tahoe leaped out in front and although He tried to catch up I luckily got clean 6,800rpm shifts and the gap widened up to about 3 car lengths. At 90ish I let out and give him the chopped fingers and he slowed down enough that I made the next light and he didn’t.

I’m hoping he returns for more and I can pull off the same win back to back. It’s difficult to muscle this thang into gear but if it clicks and sticks it’s a blast!
Hahah!! Show that j.a.c.k.a.s.s..! Good work! Next time we will need some video evidence…

(Clearly that needs to be censored…)

Maybe next time although, he might be avoiding me because he was nowhere to be found tonight and I can’t remember a night where he hasn’t blown passed me doing 90mph in a 45 while I happily chug along at 60-65.

Did a quick inspection of everything I recently did before leaving class tonight. No leaks of any kind including where the oil cooler meets the block which I know is a common point of leaks, no oil in the makeshift trans vent catch can water bottle, no oil in the second catch can nor any in the line leading to the intake plus, the truck also started on the first key turn every time today. It is very satisfying when everything is going as it should…..(knocks on wood)

Time to update my to-do list for this thing, tried to find my last one but can't seem to locate what page it's on.

-Cruise control, pretty sure it just needs wiring to the clutch safety switch. (https://www.silveradosierra.com/threads/cruise-control-install-in-04-silverado.13982/)

-Correct the steering wheel center, it's off to the driverside by about 5*. Not sure what my options are I thought the steering wheel could be moved over a spline or so but it has the larger centering spline so that's not an option unless I want to get the Dremel out. I can't remember if the steering shaft at the steering gearbox can be moved over a spline or two but that will be where I start.

-Steering wheel radio controls, I didn't personally install the radio and since the truck didn't have wheel controls at the time they didn't hook that stuff up so that shouldn't be overly difficult.

-Look into finding a dash pad replacement

-Pie cut sexy AF aluminum intake tube (will be done the week after thanksgiving)

-Be on the lookout for a new set of wheels and tires, preferably more sidewall, skinnier tread width, and lighter overall setup.

Down for all but the wheels....sadface

New wheels aren't mandatory but gotta weigh the options of tires and sometimes it's cheaper to find a set of wheels with tires. I really love the look of some of the new 8lug HD wheels, I wish it was easy to swap lug patterns without having wide boi stance.

Yes sir, next week I get off at 3 Monday-Wednesday then Thur-Friday off completely so I'll have some time to knock out the wiring portions hopefully and investigate the steering wheel centering.

It feels weird not having multiple parts on order or a major issue to track down. Even the tune seems about as perfect as I can get it which has been a looming aggravation for a while now.

The SWC buttons will need an interface if you have an aftermarket stereo. And I know the feeling- both my trucks have been rolling with zero issues for awhile knock on wood. I do have a couple cosmetic things I want to do and the parts/ supplies are on hand but I’m in no hurry, plus they involve removing the headlights and grill from the Silverado and working on them so I’m kinda waiting until I’m not driving it in the winter.

So I likely need a separate harness for the SWC to meet the radio? I've had it out a few times before and my god there are a lot of wires stuffed in a tiny space. I just re-upped on all my solder connectors and heat shrink last weekend so I'm ready to mess some stuff up!

Have you ever found a good wire wrap that can go on existing bundles without sliding over the connector? Basically, a good tape that doesn't get icky and sticky? There are a few areas in my harness that have been molested by POs and I'd like to clean them up easily.

Are you doing a retrofit on the Silvy?

Yeah you’ll need an actual interface, it’s not just a harness and of course it has its own programming that needs to be done. Iirc with the PAC module it’s done with dip switches inside the box. So yes you’ll have to fit another small box with more wires back there. Here’s the PAC website.

As far as tape, I use fabric electrical tape- it’s what the factory uses. Just do a search on Amazon or whatever for it.

The headlights on the Silverado have been retrofitted twice so far- first I CM’d the interiors and did single Morimoto projectors with etched lenses. Then I did a quad retrofit with new housings because the Morimoto’s have locking nuts so they had to be cut out of the housings. I used Acme projectors for the second set but I didn’t etch them so now it bugs me they don’t match. So I have another set of Acmes etched to match the Morimotos, ready for me to open up the housings and replace the ones in there now. I’m just kinda nervous, don’t want to have to buy new headlights and paint them so I’m hoping I can just swap out the Acmes fairly easily.

Dang, you are nuts! I've done 2 half-ass retrofits and it is a slow painful process. The etched lens looks awesome, next time I do a retro or pay someone to do it I'll have something cool etched in them!

Get the FABRIC electrical tape. It’s not plastic, it’s black fabric with adhesive. Much better. It’s what I uses when I did an interior swap on my Silverado and had to extend the DIC and HVAC harnesses. You can’t tell the extended ones from the factory, it’s the same stuff they use to wrap the harnesses with.

None of the aftermarket stereos have SWC interfaces built in. I went with the Maestro on my 08, it’s way easier but I don’t think they make one for the NBS. Besides, you would have to rewire everything. I’m pretty sure the PAC is standalone. It is a PIA, I know that much. I end up pushing everything back down into the nooks and crannies and just leave the plugs themselves sticking out far enough to plug in. I also use a sharpie to mark all the places on the back of the HU where something plugs in so I don’t forget one and put it all back together. There’s always unused ones and I hate staring at it and wondering if I’m forgetting something.
