These are what my pads look like. The other ones don’t fit my caliper brackets.

hmm, ok after a little digging around it looks like there was some weird stuff going on design wise from 05-08, those castings look smaller, it looks like you could likely easily upgrade to later model calipers if they started leaking or something later on down the road

it appears the knuckle is the same on all the 07-14 suv's so you would be able to change the calipers to a later model
also appears (some?) of the 07 pickups used the same knuckle but it changed in 08, maybe it has something to do with the 07 pickups being the old body style
not the first time gm has done some weird stuff during a changeover.....

Speaking of differences, I have one of @kbuskill's old hubs. I couldn't fit any of the OEM wheels I tried onto it, but they fit perfectly on my Hoe. I had to grind down the part that slips through the hub bore on the wheel.

ya I am glad I went with my 12 I did a bit of researching parts compatibility before I decided which would have the most parts available later on down the road I tend to keep vehicles for a long time, just seemed like 10 & later had more compatible parts

But is there really any difference? The exact same color will have different names between being on a Chevrolet or on a GMC or Cadillac, Buick, SAAB, etc. I wanna say they even change the name between year models of the same brand.
Yeah, GM does that stuff a lot, but apparently there is a difference between Arctic and Summit/Olympic. Might not notice unless you see them side by side. Here’s a pic I found. The Camaro closer to the camera is summit apparently. But I swear mine looks more like the vette here. Oh well I give up

I do see calipers in my future. So what would be needed to update to the larger pads?

Just order calipers that are not noted as "cast#" or order them for a 2009 or later I didn't notice any having a "casting" notation after 2008 but some still looked like they had a casting number
I replaced mine with these ac delco heavy duty "coated" ones, they appear to be out of stock at the moment
those are noted as fitting 08-17 on various models

But the pads meant for the larger calipers don’t fit the brackets

I am pretty sure the only difference you are seeing with your current calipers/pads is the mounting tabs are different size if you go with a later model you won't have that issue just order pads for a 2009 or later

Is that the music that's actually playing while driving or was it added to the video afterwards?
it's some music that was streaming from a online station I listen to from Austria
probably not everyone's cup of tea but the station is called Dubbase.fm, I stream it thru tunein, which in turn goes thru android auto
if you buy tune in pro it's like $5 one time cost and you can stream practically any station on the planet that is online, they try to get subscribers for a monthly fee but that's optional and not even sure what the difference would be. I bought tune in pro like 8-10 years ago only paid for it once.

Nice dubstep background music. It’s party time
The driver is a stupid idiot, hauling ass in traffic..... If a driver, ahead, decides to lane change, ..they are not looking 300 yards behind for a 100 mph vehicle.

( Remember suddenly seeing a Trooper behind you, and you didn't see him coming.... That's because he was driving WAY FASTER than traffic speed.
