Hello. New here, from Charlestown, Mass.

For what it's worth, I called Chevrolet last week and asked when Chevy would start taking orders for 2022 Duramax Tahoes. I was told maybe December, but not definite yet.

I found a 2021 LT Duramax for list and bought it yesterday,

Was at a dealer tonight, said the same thing about the diesel in 6 weeks. At least that was his opinion

Just my opinion and who knows how it will be in a month or a year from now, but I think the diesel is worth having. I really like mine so far. No apparent downsides. High efficiency and, at least subjectively, better real world driveability than gas because of all the low rpm leverage, 460lbs/ft @1,500rpm. It definitely sounds like a diesel - something I like. IMO, the diesel sound is fitting for something this big. At just 700 miles, my real world milage in this 4WD without trying to light foot it is the same as EPA, 20/26. I was able to get 29.7mpg over 160 miles keeping it avg 70mph on the highway, but on the way back at 80mph non-aggressive driving I got 26.4mpg. City driving in Boston in moderate to heavy rush hour traffic is actually 20mpg with auto stop-start off. This is my first SUV, but I think that would be good for a V6 sedan. It's the same that I got with my 2015 Impala V6.

That’s really impressive, I’m getting torn potentially waiting 6 weeks to order the truck I’m looking for or just order now with the gas engine

I’m also wondering what has better resale value in 5 year, diesel or gas engine?

I ordered the families new ride on 4/23/21 of a Black 2021 RST Suburban with the diesel motor. It kept getting pushed further down the line with no guarantee date. Dealer called me on August 2, and said that the order was now accepted and it will be a 2022 instead of the 21. Picked it up this past saturday and this thing is beautiful and love the diesel. From what i see and hear the 22 has a few changes from the 21 already.

The GMC inventory search shows a few diesels as "in transit". Maybe they have lifted the pause? The build and price site also no longer lists the diesel and certain packages as unavailable. Odd that they would put out a press release for the pause and not when it is lifted though.

It wouldn't be uncommon for a few to slip thru even though they are "Not Available"
It also wouldn't be surprising the order banks would open back up for them. They want to have a full demand rack when they come back in stock.... When you will get one is the 64 dollar question....

Seems like this is all a pre planned organization at times. OF course they want to keep people on their feet, and have them lined up out the door when they become available. reminds me of apple with their phones.
