Do you guys get state inspection stickers? I want my windshield tinted and a lot of people in PA get it done but my concern is the inspection shop scraping that sticker off like a barbarian and messing up the windshield…. Now that I think about it They actually probably won’t even pass the truck with the windshield tinted. But I “know a guy”
Colorado doesn't have an inspection program... unless you are bringing a car from out of state when moving here... CSP does the inspection and signs off on the title... no sticker. Only thing we have is emissions, and that is only after the car is 5 years old and they stopped giving stickers.

I do have a toll transponder sticker, but I just stick that in my glovebox and it reads fine.

I would attach any stickers that must be displayed on the front windshield (if tinted) with scotch tape, at any cost. You can’t just scrape it off like on plain glass.

Also, I’ve been pulled over in rush hour traffic for no other reason than 50% full windshield tint and slapped with a ticket, just something to think about. If you’re willing to deal with the consequences than I think it’s actually beneficial (cuts down on nighttime glare, heat reduction, etc..)

70% or clear tint on windshield might be better option
not as likely to attract attention ;)

They went right up to the box around the front camera over the texture. It did look a little funky initially, but the tint settled in place after a couple days (don't touch it), and this is what it looks like currently in that area. I had the dashcam installed right on top of the tint (3rd car I have done this on without issue). 3M used to be the goto tint for a lot of places, but the place I had do it here in Denver uses Llumar ceramic... It's a little on the pricey side (it was about $500 all around the truck), and you could probably get it cheaper if you are just matching the front to the factory rear and forgoing the pano. I think it was worth the cost and its noticeably cooler in an all black interior.

Just remember, I did 5% all around (except windshield is 35%)... the sides are dark at night and normally not an issue on the road in well lit areas, but backing out of a dark driveway in the country, I gotta roll the windows down. It does help that these trucks have the surround cams though too. The windshield tint isn't an issue day or night... you can see out of it just fine at that percentage.

That probably won’t skate. PA is strict they want to peel the sticker and apply the sticker. I suppose I could peel it before I get to the station but they still want to apply the sticker. Even if I use the guy I know. He hooks me up but he still won’t just give me stickers. I have to bring him my car and he applies them.

That would work if you had your guy apply the sticker shield.

My front is tinted, had no issues. I went with 35%, and personally don't have any issues at night with it like that... and it helps with keeping the glaring of the headlights down from other oncoming cares.

Personal preference... and yea its generally not legal, but I am hoping cops have bigger fish to fry during their shift.

I also would recommend tinting the pano roof. I did 5 percent all around on the other windows... including the pano, it makes a huge difference during high noon and the ability to keep the shade open.

I thought tinting the panoramic roof would cause the glass to shatter due to the heat of the sun? Since the sun beats down on the roof a lot longer than it does on the side windows. Somewhere i saw someone had a roof shatter, and another said their tint guy advised against it.
