I took my spare tire and third row seats out a long while back. I’m not worried about the weight since I have more weight in tools sitting in the back than the third row and spare tire combined.
Having the tire gone makes a HUGE difference when doing any rear end work (Diff fluid, shocks, back up sensors…etc).
I'd like to move my spare to gain departure angle, but i have no good place to put it yet.

So how accurate is whatever device you're using as a performance meter? Have you ran it at a track with this meter at the same time to compare accuracy?

I used to have a GtechPro, the first model that looked like a radar detector, back in the mid-late 90s (before smartphones and gps), and it was pretty accurate as long as you had the correct vehicle weight entered. It was about 3 tenths and 5 mph off in the 1/4 pretty constantly.

You just reminded me that I have a Beltronics FX-2 and never used it. Bought it from a pissed-off mom for $20, waaay back in the early days of Craigslist. Her son got busted racing his car that she bought so she took it back. She sold the GTech cuz it bothered her being in her field of vision on the windshield.

It’s the only way to fully bleed/flush/purge the system. There are other OBD scanners who claim they can do the ABS bleed. They are also the same ones who claim they can do a throttle body relearn, but I have yet to see one that can do either of them fully/properly like the Tech2.

Weeeeell... it's not the only way. I'm too tight to buy specialty tools I'll rarely use and probably lose before I ever use them again. I cycle the key on during the downstroke of the brake pedal. The ABS solenoids are activated as part of the system test. With the system under pressure and the fluid being pushed downstream, the old fluid quickly gets pushed out and chased by the new fluid. I do this about five times per corner during my one-man bleeding process. It's never failed me and only costs a little bit of battery power.

Battery replaced for free, all seems good. Replaced master cylinder and bled the whole system. All seems good. Sometimes a blind squirrel fins a nut. Been working my balls off hard. Time for some cold ones. Finally a nice cool night to wind down to. Pleasant evening to everyone. Cheers.

Great info. Some day I hope to graduate to your level. Good to see you. >>>Hugs<<<

Likewise. I’ve got a Rigd hitch swing in mind, but weight and $$$$ are slowing that down.
thats the only place i can think of, but that'll be a pain when i tow i think.
if i mount it in the front, blocking airflow.
put it on the roof, then simple drive throughs, quick car washes, and parking structures become an issue.
we'll see. not a huge problem yet.

Well, my tech 2 should be here 8/4, but I have dual batteries, so using that method would be bad either.

The Rigd piece still allows a trailer hitch. At least fir a small trailer. I know my teardrop would be cool. I’m not so sure if you had an equalizing hitch.

im not even thinking of the roof, because it would be a huge pita to get it up there solo.

The reason I mentioned towing being an issue, because I have a little luggage rack and my friends pop-up tent trailer, and there wouldn't be room for the tire there, let alone it swinging out without hitting the rack or trailer.

...I'm a bit of a special case lol

Replaced the Condenser with my daughter. Was also going to replace the line between it and the accumulator but one part was clocked differently so we could not use it. The line however looked excellent as did the filters in it so we cleaned up the ends and used the new gaskets and o-rings from the other one. No leaks, nice and cold in the cab but really need to test it all out after the sun comes up.

We were rewarded for our efforts with a bad front $159 Airbag sensor! So it is either disconnected or we broke it putting the bumper cover back on somehow. Must've been that one time I let slip the Lord's name in vain! The skeeters were so big they had N-numbers on their tails and one of them or something bit me good to where after I brushed it away blood kept coming out of my hand for a while.

Anyone else have a wiring harness that has nearly fallen apart in the engine bay? The loom under the hood everywhere is shot and just crumbles if you look at it.
