Figures.
I was planning to get my AZ permit a while back in order to have the ability to carry in NV.
But NV reversed their ruling and quietly put UT back on the approved list.

We also have permitless carry here in UT, people think that the plan is to raise the requirement for a permit here in order to give us better reciprocity.
I'm hoping that's the case.

If i end up visiting OR often, then i'll look at the requirements to have a valid permit there.
If they go with a similar Enhanced carry permit concept like ID and a lot of other states now, the reciprocity is very broad (includes NV). Only the most progressive states are excluded (or I guess better said, exclude themselves), like CA, ILL, etc. OR just requires you to bring your enhanced course certificate and their forms to get it issued.

Edit, it may be that OR permit is issued with the above paperwork, if you are a border state. Not sure if it is as easy for non border states.

Trying to get my hands on some of this crap
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ptx-80697 (copper gasket spray).
everyone is out of freaking stock!

I just paid $20 a can off of ebay...
at least that's the shipped price.
That’s the shit for the head gaskets! Remember cometics can be reused up to 3 times. If the heads come off again for any reason remember that.

I spent all day, got real close.
then i checked the new gaskets with the heads, I might have taken off a little too much around the chamber.

fk it, wife said do it.
get this done.

on the way.

I'm using those heads with the stock exhaust... i'm a poser. :yaoface2:
Heads with manifolds and stock exhaust FTW:)

I only have some CNC ported 799s but do have stock exhaust lol.

Now you need a cam...

Drove mine ~ 150 miles to go adventuring. Adventuring was successful and awesome. Saturday night we took it to dinner and we sat and ate in the parking lot while it got HAMMERED with quarter sized hail but not a single dent on it. However it did throw a code, the autozone reader said P015B, so i guess its time to start working on 02 sensors. I ordered the one that was giving the code, hopefully this corrects the big dip in mileage i noticed it was starting to get...down to 12 instead of 14/15

It’s a real shame tho you killed some 799 heads.

Depending on how balanced my engine is, looks like those heads can get me to a 7k rpm redline.

Maybe wot shifts @ 6500?
Hmm

Yup, but i gave it a shot.
I could have used those to either recoup some of the $$, or to build up the 5.3 later.

in all fairness, i could still use them.
i have them balanced out pretty well.
I just ended up with a tiny bit of gasket overhang...
If i went to a larger gasket i would feel ok about using them.

Where they ended up, the other one i was about to smooth it out to make it look better.
then i decided i better check the head gasket fitment before i spent another 3hrs flattening and blending the bowl.

Not bad, it's just that head gasket overhang i ended up with.
not much, but enough that I'm not willing to chance fkn up the only gaskets i can source right now.
:yaoface2:

I also couldn't find much on others that opened up a set of heads this much.
I figure about 1-2k to ship my Tahoe back home from the coast...
I'm making money here really.

Anyone have experience with full roller rockers?
Since i can go over 550 with these heads, I'm thinking about a higher ratio.
maybe 1.72 or 1.8

I'm assuming I'll need a valve cover spacer...

I have Yella Terra full rollers on my 02 blown 6.0. They’re rail mounted, no spacers needed.

So what i'm thinking...

Assuming i understand this correctly,
The cam i have has a rough .550 lift, so divide that by 1.7, then times that by the ratio to get the cam side lift..
so it looks like with 1.8 ratio, I'll get .582 lift.

:hmmm2:

Oh and my pos neighbor has started his games again.

Trolling me with different people every day, waiting for me to go work my yard...

So i decided today to see what happens.
Yup, as soon as i try and work on my yard, he is a victim of me trying to ruin his time when ever he is outside!

So i trimmed my trees, nice view with security cameras...

I want trees.
Big row of trees.
Evergreens.

Tahoe took all of my $$$ and trees maybe next year.

I also tried to find bamboo we could plant, but the wife got real verbal with a NO.
*sigh*

Can't wait till i finish the tahoe, i have property that misses me.

Not terrible. Lay the gasket you planned on using and let’s see the overhang. What bore are you planning on having?

Mine’s enjoying a day at the spa (dealership). Window regulator replaced and the airbag recall.

This is a dangerous place for me to be. This beauty was here a week ago. Still here, and looking for a home.
