Me too lol, I was somewhere awhile back and when the guy saw the engine cover he thought it was an LY6 from one of the newer trucks. I let him roll with it lol.

The Escalade/sss engine covers are by far the most attractive. I like the nnbs for the simple fact that it looks more modern than the regular nbs.

That's porting, valve job everything but assembly and disassembly. I'd seriously reconsider the fast intake save the money and get a TBSS or NNBS intake and throttle body. Put the extra funds to heads IMO.
This. The nnbs intake is great bang for the buck. Do a good cam, heads, stall, tune
So I still need to find heads and decide on those.. I was planning to go with the FAST, largely due to the TB size difference. IIRC, the TBSS / NNBS, is 92 rather than 87. I figure a 102 would help use up the duty cycles of my e85 injectors. [emoji16]
I’m also wondering if porting the heads in an N/A motor is really that helpful, or if the additional flow would be better suited to a forced induction application. I’m a total noob on this stuff.

Imo, the fast can hurt power. You will never utilize the volume. Ported heads definitely help. It will help power, torque, and fuel mileage.
