No...It’s not horse dodo. Horse dodo is warm, this is cold as f&$k. But, I’ve lived here all my live and have just learned to deal with it. The whole family has winter gear that will work down to -30*F so it is what it is.

A few years ago we went 30+ days with it below 32*F. This is but a inconvenience.

Fair enough. I cant stand the cold, anything under 50° is awful. I dont handle the cold well at all

I would too if I lived in St Louis! But even though nothing rusts here, I did actually buy some long stainless threaded Allen head screws and used those after I got the right length figured out. Just cut the heads off, cut to length, deburr.

High desert climate here in Boise, not a lot of rust here.

Before I got the humidifier working in the house, in early January the humidity in the house was running about 26%. Talk about itchy.

We will survive this crap!!!!:(:hump:

Hang in there. Weather is so strange. Today here the high was 49F, walking around in a light sweatshirt. Everyone saying, “I wonder when winter will get here?”

A few years ago, we had what everyone here calls, Snowmagedon. It really pounded most of the winter. We had six feet of snow on our front lawn.

Our daughter who lives in Boston was walking around in a light sweatshirt. Go figure.

Looks like my son. I don't think he ownes a pair of long pants. He's in his 3rd year at Mizzou, and just about every kid there looks just like that whenever I've been there to visit, but he's missing a ball cap. My son wears one all the time, I think he sleeps in it.

Currently 6* here. Supposed to be highs in the low 20s through Thursday, then only in the low teens through the weekend.

Back when I was at Iowa State in the early ‘90’s we had the same thing.

Cold here right now. Might get to 0*F this afternoon.

You guys can have that cold. I can’t take it. We have had a mild winter here in the PNW this year, it’s only got below freezing a few nights and we got one light dusting of snow that melted immediately. There have been some fairly cold winters but nothing like you guys get.

I’m considering pluggin mine in before I have to run to Ace hardware. But I have 5W -30 synthetic on board and it’s only minus 15 right now.

I have the OEM block heater but never used it and I was wondering- does the heater blow warm air immediately after you start it when you use the block heater?

My truck was pretty sluggish when I started it this morning. Never had a block heater on any of my vehicles.

The OE block heaters have a built-in thermostat. I don't see at what temp they turn on; my Owner's Manual says it's "not required" with temps above freezing, but it can help with starting when it's below 0° F. Mine's an NBS but I would think NNBS would be similar.

I don’t know about the plug style ones but I had one of these on a previous truck and it was awesome.

My question is about whether the hvac will blow warm air immediately after I start it instead of a mile down the road if I use the block heater but I also never thought about it having a thermostat. And it’s a NBS if that matters. I see that one warms and circulates the coolant so I’m guessing it would.
