Was about to pull the trigger on a series 40 muffler till I heard the borla pro xs. Now I’m torn.

Today I thought I'd see why my parking brakes weren't working. Was hoping that they would just need adjusting. Of course not. And while I was looking, I failed to find any dust shield to speak of. I did find lots of pieces, however.

I see the dust shield right under that mallot. Just needs a bit of rust encapsulator. Did you buy the 2-piece ones so you don’t have to pull the axles?

What's the experience with the 2-piece quality? Are they as thick and sturdy as the 1-piece? I'm a-gonna need them in the near future.
I had my Dorman 2-piece ones on for 2 years and they were fine. A little thinner than stock but other than that they were like new when I removed them and installed OEM 1-piece ones a month ago. Now I’m chasing a rubbing sound on hard cornering but I have Wilwoods 14” rotors back there. Wish I would have left the 2-piece ones on. They install way easier.

But you don't have salty winters--I'm sure that helps lol.

Yeah, the 1-piece I could get next-day, but the 2-piecers won't be here til Friday.
Not to make your project any worse than it is but I would check the cables. [emoji849][emoji15] Watch witch hardware kit you get I had to by 2 hardware kits to get all right parts $40 [emoji15][emoji849]
Black clips that hold adjuster are the issue . They don't come in the one kit they do come in the older kit. [emoji849][emoji15] Use that awesome 3000 degrees Grease. Ceramic extreme.. I'm thinking you live in the rust belt. [emoji106][emoji849][emoji15]

Same here. My Hoe came down from Wyoming but the backing plates are rotting. Not real bad, and I guess they're probably original so maybe that's not so bad for longevity.
Strange, last time I changed pads and rotors (a year or two ago) my originals were fine. I doubt I'm any more meticulous about keeping the undercarriage washed down than you or Sam. One thing I do tend to do when I'm working on anything though is to thoroughly clean everything and then wipe it down with assembly lube.
