And i just got the front diff out.
Opted to pull it completely so i'm not fighting it.
Air tools = why the hell not.

I can still get parts via the vette, know of that part under a different brand?
maybe something that napa, orilylies, autozone would have?

Pan looked better than i expected, however i did an oil change when i bought the thing.
Ran some seafoam in the oil to cure the lifter tick, then changed the oil and filter again after a few hundred miles...
(Like 2 weeks ago)

After that the tick got worse... lol

Just drained fresh M1 5w30
I was tempted to try and recover some, but decided fk it.

:D

The o-ring was not cracked, but it's pretty flat.
Stayed with the pump when i pulled the pickup tube.

Well time to make this baby spotless before i put it back together!

And i also noticed the rivets were missing, looks like someone has had this pan off before.

Was the O ring brittle?

Pickup tube is in the ultrasonic cleaner right now.
It's making quick work of it :)

Something i bought for some vintage pistols i collect...
some of those you really don't want to detail strip, lost piece = sol or make your own part.

Handy little thing, also cleaned the f out of the bolts with it. :D

The company I work for builds ultrasonic cleaners and have a few of the gun manufacturers as customers. What brand of cleaner do you have and how big?

cheap, amazon special.
It was more of "lets see if this works!"

it holds one gallon.
Just big enough to take your standard size service pistol if taken down.

a Sig P226 frame barely fits. :)

I want a larger (nicer) one.

How was the pickup screen?

Not too bad, had some crud coating it.
the screen it self was very clean, nothing plugging etc.

Bottom of the pan under the plate had some good crud.

Getting dark soon, time to get this b together!

VVT he’s talking about. Some Honda ***** that makes it sound more like arse when a certain rpm hits.
That sewing machine sound?

This is the first vehicle I've owned that I've noticed this sound, just figured it had something to do with the valvetrain or timing chain setup.

Hopefully all this work will benefit your oil pressure.

Hopefully
I also found that pressure relief thing in the pan was pretty nasty
lots of crud in it.

I flushed it out as good as i could.
I wanted to remove it and clean, but rain tomorrow and was getting dark.

Lights broken out, hoping to have this mostly together tonight.

So the torque specs are confusing on this.
I thought i had the pan figured out at 106 inch pounds

Found this in the FSM
• Tighten the oil pan-to-block and oil pan-to-front cover bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

• Tighten the oil pan-to-rear cover bolts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

Does that sound right, or am i gtg @ 106inch pounds?

I'm exhausted, calling it for tonight.
Sounds like i need to loosen the rack again and tighten the rest of the bolts, unless anyone has some insight. :)

Also, i didn't get pictures, but my pickup tube came out spotless and shiny silver.
Same with that plate on the bottom of the pan.

Pan it self, mostly spotless had some yellow/brown spots here and there

Well on day I'll have my hoe back on the road.
Now relaxing with a little rum.

Forgot i took this, took a drive up to one of my favorite lakes around here (bear lake)
Water is super clear and blue, it's just missing white sands and coronas w/tacos.

Decided to jump out even though it was freaking cold and windy to take a picture, the truck was actually clean.
Lately it has a nice ash soot layer...
