Rebuilt my 6l80e valve body, installed transgo regulator valve, tcc valves, etc...

Topped off with a new separator plate, sonnax non shrinking check balls, and sonnax end plugs.

Rebuilt the tcm pressure switches, only found one about to give up the ghost.
Sonnax seal installer tool was worth every penny.

Had the truck on jackstands with the nose in the air for a few days...

Everything back together and back on the ground.

Got the truck nice and hot, fluid up to temp and then did the trans relearn procedure...

While it was doing its thing, i noticed my oil pressure was real low.

Hp tuners said 24psi at idle...

Been hearing ticking from the non afm side of the engine lately...

Looks like I'm doing an oil pump pickup o-ring today!!!

Yay! :banghead:

So, just having a massive intake volume and plenty of exhaust flow will put one of these heavy mofos in the low 14s-high 13s... Wow. How does it feel off the line, even with regular street driving?

Its all in the tune and gearing. Its a fu@kin blast to drive.

I have the motor and trans tuned at LMP in Baltimore. I also regeared from 3.08 up to 3.73, that made a huge difference/improvement by itself.

So last weekend I did some things:

1) AFM / VVT delete
2) TSP Stage 3 Hi lift 5.3 cam
3) 225 heads
4) GM LSA oil pump, new water pump, LS3 front cover and valley cover, Katech Racing C5R timing chain, every APR bolt made for an LS
5) Michigan Motorsports 5/16" 7.400 pushrods and New OEM rockers with the trunion upgrade
6) Improved Engineering oil pick up clamp

Tuned at LMP this past Tuesday, 360rwhp but ran out of injector. Injector duty cycle was 85-87% on pump and maxed out on E85. My tuner loaded a safe tune til I get some bigger injectors.....hoping to break 400 rwhp then.

I just ordered some Esky 6.2 injectors where they are OEM 52# and a Circle D 278mm 11" converter with the billet front cover option (3000-3200 Stall)

Once I get the converter, injectors and tune refreshed........its going to be a ****** street beast. Should be low 13's .........maybe a 12.99

I'll post some pics up later today

Any weight reduction?

What's the weight?

400rwhp on a 5000+lb vehicle isn't getting into the low 13's/high 12's

At least not at the track

It’s a ppv and on top of that he ripped a lot of weight out of it iirc.

Pretty sure I got everything for the oil pickup o-ring job.

Pickup O-ring: Check!
Pan gasket: Check!
Oil cooler gasket: Check!
(assuming here that it's connected to the pan, if not then "while I'm in there why the f not")

Braved walmart and picked up a couple jugs of M1 5W30: Check
Oil Filter: Check

Truck has 0 oil leaks...
Here is hoping it stays that way.

Trimmed off the clip's and the tabs of the bracket for front fascias lip. I think it look's better without it [emoji2373]. Also put my new headlights in. I need the fogs now.

The oil cooler or block-off plate is on the oil pan.

Did you get or do you have high temp, oil/gas resistant RTV for the four points where the front and rear covers meet the oil pan? I use Permatex black.

That's why I asked what the weight is.
@iamdub would probably like to know also.

Yeah, I'm kinda blown away by his results even before the cam and heads. Granted, he has the 6L80 versus my 4L60, but I'm not sure if that would make that much of a difference. Mine's an LTZ so it has a little more weight than a PPV and I haven't removed anything but the third row seats. His mods are geared towards what would be done for a car racing in an NA class, which usually results in all mid- to top-end power and a notable loss of low-end. All stock except for MIT with AEM filter and an 18" free-flowing muffler, my best was a 15.656 @89.05, 2.439 60'. It's definitely stronger with the cam, mild shave, raised compression and looser converter. But, I'd be surprised if it's even .75 seconds faster.

@1BADI5, how much Torque Management, if any, is in your tune? I have a feeling that's what's killing my power. Although not as bad as stock, it still has that "VTEC" characteristic at 3,000 RPM.

This gives me an idea. I could slice up my stock grille and paint it gloss black to match my new all-black grille (same as yours) and put them in those holes.

I want to get the block off ones for the ppv or without tow hook's. Mine used to have a grille guard on it.

Have a part number? All the ones I'm finding have the cutout for the tow hook:

I just searched a little and same result. It looks like you could make a flat plate out of some 1/8" abs that could be epoxied to the back.

I had that thought. Then, after looking more at your pic, I ended up down a rabbit hole looking for any data on frontal air pressure to use the holes as "dual snorkels" for a ram air setup. The +1HP at 90MPH would make the duct fabrication and routing completely not worth it. Modding these in any way is definitely a form-over-function idea.
