Iirc trans temp gauge won't work pnp in your 06. Something needs to be activated for it to work--don't remember what tho.

Yes, the trans temp gauge will work.

I always forget about the different PRNDR in the 2006, but as far as I know, it doesn't matter.

The milage will need be programmed if you want it to be right.

Can anyone please share a picture of the different cluster? I am just curious, and a quick Google search turned nothing up. Thanks!

The PRNDL display doesn’t matter. It will be fine. I put an Escalade cluster in my 08 Silverado which is completely different than the original and everything works.

How far off would mileage be ? What does it take to program right mileage ? Isn't mileage in computer not in cluster ? I will see now how much cluster costs it comes with the Denali wood grain that snaps on the dash also.

How are the "PRND" different between '05 and '06? That seems to be the same cluster my daughter has in her '03 Denali.

NNBS in a NNBS. There’s a write-up on GMFS but I see their site is down for maintenance. You need to buy or build a harness, and the bezel takes a lot of work to take the two different ones, cut them in pieces and make them into one hybrid. But it sure looks sweet. https://www.gmfullsize.com/threads/escalade-cluster-in-nnbs.304181/

Thanks. Joined the forum... But how is transplanting a NNBS Escalade cluster into a 2008 relevant to swapping a 2006 cluster into a 2005? Isn't your example two GMT900s, and his plight is with 2 GMT800s?

Not trying to nitpick -- you know more than I do. I'm hoping for you to dispel my confusion.

Thanks!

He asked if his PRNDL would work since the display is different in the 2 clusters so I was showing that it doesn’t matter. Just an example of data displaying the same in clusters that are different from each other. Same idea, different platforms.

The donor cluster will contain whatever mileage was on the donor vehicle. Your mileage would need to be programmed (and VIN). Not sure how that’s done TBH, but personally, I’d want it accurate. It’s also important for down the road if the vehicle were ever to be sold to someone else. If you do not have the correct mileage, it’s selling a vehicle with fraudulent mileage. (Since you would be aware of the mileage inaccuracy)

I will get picture of original 2006 for the gear selector it's just a orange Dot in 2006 and 2005 it's like little read out has gears on top.
