I could use some more brain storming. I had the original lowering springs that come with Norcal SS kit from Beltech. I was getting some chattering sounds and noticed how bad my coils 4-6 were rubbing and rusting away so I thought it was that. I switched to a stiffer spring from Beltech and it seems the coil was not the issue. After driving again I would say the sound is probably coming from the air shocks so the sound is more like squeaking/air rushing sound. My air ride system kicks on for about 5sec when I start the car and dont notice it kicking on any more during normal driving conditions.

So my though is now if the air ride suspension is high/low would it cause the extra noise I might be hearing? I am using the 2" spacer and the provided rods from NorcalSS. I know I can adjust the air ride a little but wanted to ask the group on their thoughts and if anyone had the same noise during ride height adjustments on the air ride sensor rods.

Not sure if adding more ride height would stiffen the shocks and help the noise (increase ride height which is not what I would like) or possible use less height (lower the rear and get the Cali lean which is also what I would not like)

Didnt know if using the 1" spacer and increase ride height, kind of offsetting the two parts to maintain the ride height I want.

have not had any chattering or any other sounds from my kit.

when you got up underneath, did you see any other spots of rubbing?

Tony has posted his contact info on other thread.... have you tried contacting him?

I talked to Tony before but we cant figure it out either. Between the spring and the frame there is less then a fingers gap between the spring and frame or the cavity where the spring sits. The sounds doesnt follow the bounce/feel of the vehicle. The sounds has me thinking the rear axle might be bouncing more than my ass can feel but the bouncing makes the sound which my ears can hear when the windows are down. There is more sound than there is bounce that I can feel or the bounce is so minimal but can here the bounce/recoil versus one thump of a bump

I will need to test with the new springs but with the original Beltech springs with the kit when I had a load in the rear and the air ride pumped up to offset the load the noise was not noticeable that i can remember but the ride quality was stiffened so I know the physical change had to do something with it.

Just installed Tony's kit. Love it. Best customer service ever. He answered every question and concerns I had. Much appreciated Tony!!20200727_190829.jpg 20200727_190756.jpg 20200727_190737.jpg

Anyone bypass the lowering shackles that the shocks mount to and adjust the sensor rod to get right height? I'm questioning if my sound issues are from my shocks.

I still can't figure out chattering also hissing sound. It is a mix of chatter from springs or maybe air sound maybe from not enough pressure in the shocks. IDK still searching but getting super annoying.

Tried two different Beltech springs and still have the issue so looking at other than springs for the cause.

Looks great! How difficult is it to get the spare out from under the vehicle when dropped about 4"? I used to slam S10's back in the day, but I was much younger and didn't really concern myself with drab items such as spares. I was more concerned about cutting out beds to keep the differentials from knocking...
