Hey there. A friend and myself replaced the rear hatch actuator yesterday. On my way home I noticed my cargo door ajar light was on...stopped and made sure it was closed but it remained on. Later after sundown I noticed my dome lights on. I removed battery cable so battery wouldn t drain overnight. Same issues today. Actuator works fine just the cargo light / dome light issue. Im assuming something is backward. Has this happened to anyone else? Another thing I found was that when shutting the hatch...the glass door releases...so then I have to shut it closed...again something might be backward. My friend took it all apart with out pics so I'm just gonna reverse the two cables from left side of door and check all the connections.

Try locking your glass window to keep it from coming open I leave mine locked and never open it. Push ******* the bottom of the hatch after you close it my right side sometimes doesn't latch all the way that may be why your door ajar light is on.

Tried that and also lubed the latches and still the same result. I'm getting a replacement for this new actuator so I will see if that's the issue...thanks for the tip.

Hey...i figured it out. The actuator and door latches are fine the issue is on the glass latch from where the rod connects to the latch hole and to the lower black plastic holder. When I push down on the rod the dome lights go out. When i let go it gives slightly and lights come back on. I'm guessing it could be spring tension because the switch under the point where the top of rod connects isn't contacting the switch there.71e78d8456541a89b25bc736433a02b1.jpge75468cd4b59d91b8b27915771b0d5f6.jpg

Does it help if you hook the spring tail on the pin head protruding about in center of spring tail last pic? Otherwise I would suggest looking for a slight mis-alignment of the assembly. Try loosening bolts and rocking to one side and re-tighten. I think you are on the right track, It's just liking you massaging it and wants more.

Lol!!! I was thinking that...loosening it up and reposition if I can. It wasn't doing this prior to the removal of the bracket and swap of the actuator.

Ok fellas...i have replaced all but the right rear passenger door. The new latch assembly I bought didn't work...the original started to work when I plugged it back in...but it Peters out. It works if I clank on the motor but sporadically. Can I replace just the motor portion only? Have any of yall done that versus the entire lock latch assembly? It looks like it has two star bits that attach it to the assembly??
