After being laid off again (oilfield) I've had some time on my hands

. So, I picked up my Iwata spray gun and added rally stripes to my Denali. Kinda gives it the Super Sport look.
Cheers,

I’m curious and my question isn’t related to the stripes.... just something my eyes notice... why paint the base of the onstar antenna to match not paint the little black top piece that sticks up as well? Sticks out to me. But then again I notice those types of things and most people don’t.
Also, if I remember right isn’t that red paint job on your truck a custom paint job? From the photos it looks spectacularly well done, and gives your truck a really beautiful and unique look. I think the stripes kinda take away from the paint job itself.

If you're gonna do that you need to do the roof, too, for continuity.

( roof )..... I spoke with an NBA player. He told me he's the only person that can see how dirty a refrigerator top gets. ..

( Another fun detail idea)..... Put "S.S." next to the side Denali badge ?

Great looking job!!

> edit...... I want a full photo of your Camero parked in your garage !!!!!!!!!!!!

You really put an SS badge on it? And left the GMC? Personally, there’s nothing worse than sticking fake badges on a vehicle. And yes the stripes need to continue on the roof if you’re going to do them imo. It’s a great looking truck though don’t get me wrong.

Ford Shelby truck has stripes on the roof. ( To me it looks "funky" from a frontal view).....

To me, not putting stripes on the roof would of a GM truck is "non-Ford" stripe. I M O

What have you to say about the SS badge? And if you’re going to do something like stripes and post pics, you’ll get opinions. Nobody’s trying to be disrespectful. Camaro is awesome, nice work. Did you paint it yourself?

I was trying for NEW, GM shows two part numbers for mine that are not Remans and are coated (painted) and not bare. I think one of them is aluminum.

Roof stripes aren't on Camaros or Chevelles. They aren't on my Denali either. Many sure are critical - to each their own I guess..

As requested.- here are a few pics of the '72 Camaro I just finished.View attachment 251204 View attachment 251205 View attachment 251206 View attachment 251207 View attachment 251208

Yup.... To each.... I wouldn't call it critical stuff..... Only a fun conversation.
But your Camero...... Bucket list... Well done !!!

I love that body style. Classic styling, beautiful. What'cha going with on the drivetrain? Going with a split bumper, or the single bumper? Paint looks flawless. Awesome car!

Thanks for the compliments on the Camaro. I did paint it along with my Denali and lots of other cars. Painting is my side gig as being in the patch finds me laid off every down turn.

The Camaro is a customers and he has sunk alot into it. Curie rear end, Big block 486, etc.

Cheers.

Definitely two thumbs up on the paint work, man!!! of topic question, do you do your painting in your garage or do you have a separate building where you have a paint booth? The reason I ask is because in the near future I'll be painting my dually and hope to do it in my dad's garage. Looking for useful tips and tricks :)

For that kind of paint job, I suggest you rent a real spray booth. Due to a dust/overspray exhaust system.
And a controlled air environment !!

I did a large garage with plastic on the walls & an exhaust fan. It worked pretty good.

EXHAUST FAN.....

@Sevenevez painted his entire Denali in his garage, and it was a custom job too. He detailed it in his build thread. @HiHoeSilver bought it from him. Anyone remember that?
