Lol its probably a good sign the maf is bad if you unplug it while the engine is running and nothing changes

Side note. I did the test process that I linked on the last page. The MAF has good power going to it and a good ground. When I checked the signal it didn't change whatsoever. So based on that link the MAF is bad. Luckily I can process an exchange with Rockauto for a replacement. I'm thinking I got a bad one since I barely drove at all with it.

By biggest concern is. What if it wasn't a bad one. Is there anything I should be looking at that would cause a MAF to go bad so quickly?

I just borrowed it from Advance Auto. I did blip the throttle and slowly applied the gas and there was no change.

I bought a new K&N filter to replace the old dirty and dented Specter filter and cleared the code. Its not raining anymore so I'm going to try another test on the maf if it comes out bad ill swap it out with a replacement.

Either the MAF is bad or there's an open circuit in the harness between it and the PCM. If you can find the pinouts for the plug(s) on the ECM, you can check for continuity. Do this before you replace the MAF. Or, if you know someone with a similar vehicle that will let you, swap the MAFs and see if you get a valid reading. You're currently running on a speed-density tune of sorts. I'm surprised you haven't noticed odd shifting in the trans.

Funny you mention that. My truck is very sluggish and is very slow to shift.

As far as an open in the circuit from what I've observed that isn't the issue. I've tested the wiring harness with a multimeter. When I went to test the signal I wasn't getting any wavelength change during different RPM ranges

Stopped at AAP today and for no reason picked up the Meguiars headlight restoration kit. I tried it out, but it didn't do enough. So back to the store. Bought some 320, 600, 800, 1000, and 2000 grit sand papers. Did the process again and NOW i'm happy with it. Using the 320 (lightly) really cut through all the bad stuff. Then the steps to smooth it all out went pretty easy. Probably spent way too much time, but they look much much better now. Being as i'm kinda OCD i'll probably still buy some new GM lamps, but this will hold me over for a while.

That is a good way to get them smooth.

I used to use incense sticks to find vacuum leaks in plumbing, never tried it on a motor vacuum issue. I’ve used starter fluid on motors, never tried brake fluid. Just have to be extremely careful since it’s so flammable.
don't use brake fluid lol or brake cleaner (it damages paint)

and goes everywhere that is why using body spray stuff is better as you can control where it goes better
