my old 03 failed at burn outs. it had a locker and it had 33's on it that were 12.5 wide bfg's. no smoke shows till the back tires were bald. or on wet leaves.

but it would pull stuff damn good, i should have bet money the day we needed to drag a bob cat skid steer 10 foot out the way on loose gravel. my truck was like a dog tied to a stump, still moved that damn thing.

Stock Tahoes and Yukons I don't think can do burnouts. I know mine won't. Neither could my 02. Tony's definitely could though!

my 03 pick up didnt even have traction control. 4.10 gears didnt help. it would just hook and go. on the plus side, i could plow up to 6 inches of snow in 2wd. helped out a lot in small lots where your turning and crap a lot. my tahoe is no wheres near the capability the 2500 hd had. i also broke 50 mph in reverse in that truck, speed-o works in reverse.... lmao

Got bored and sold it. Then bought a 99 Tahoe. Then bought my dually. The dually is staying with me for the long haul now

I finally checked the motor out--doesn't look bad at all. Funny--no broken exhaust manifold bolts! That's a 1st! And they look original too.

Lol, I have 1 3/4 long tubes. Gonna swap everything over, including the 317 heads--since they already have the better springs in them, even tho the new motor already has 317 heads on it.

I'd do that. Gonna try to sell the short--or long block. I know someone could rebuild it. Just need some $$ to put into the build.

I read 862's raise the compression. Had those on my 4.8.

Heads are something I’m extremely interested in, but I’ve done zero research on yet.. time to start reading. Lol
