Yup, I noticed that. Vin comes back to a 2003. $600 was the deposit, for a total of $1075 delivered to NJ from Pa. Anyone have access to a free carfax? Says only 2 owners.
Ah. Damn. I was hoping it was $600 out the door! Apparently they do know what they have! D’oh! Yes, a verified car fax would be nice. Was that car fax provided at the salvage yard? Is it just a picture of the car fax, or how did they show it to you? (Looks like they pulled the car fax July of 2019.. )

ETA: I was able to at least confirm the provided vin is from the listed vehicle, a 2003 K2500.. but not much help really:

I did everything over the phone, since they're in Pa. Told them I needed proof of mileage, and also the veh vin#. He sent the snap shot of the carfax through email. Hopefully it's legit and it's a good motor.

Hopefully. Looks pretty good. I might ask them about the 2003 / 2006 discrepancy, just to see. And if you wanted to look at the car fax for the provided VIN, it’s only $40.. I’d consider it.

I just called them, gave me the 'ol "I must've hit the wrong key typing out the receipt" deal. As long as it's a good motor from an 03-06, and the mileage is in the ballpark, I'll be happy. And the vin does come back to an 03.

Yessir!! I think you’re good!! I know your buddy can’t do the work for a long time, but maybe at least pull some covers off and have a look at some things as soon as you get it, to make sure it looks decent..? I remember how your Express’ motor looked after pulling the front cover.. [emoji35]

whats kinda sad is that 6.0 has under 300 hp new. where the not so much newer 5.3 have 335. but the 6.0 is a tq'y sob. my 03 2500 hd 4x4 with 4.10 gears was a beast.

Got another one. Supposed to be delivered tomorrow. My buddy is gonna do this one, but he's not gonna be able to mess with it for another 2-3 months. That's fine with me, as it'll let me get some $$ together--as I blew my ***--again--on this one. Thx guys :waytogo:View attachment 240370
EDIT--I'm thanking you guys for helping me get to where I'm at. Without you guys I'd be up ***** creek without a paddle lol!

YEAH BABY!!!!!!! :chewie:

On my 5.3, the output of the PS pump (the lower hose on the PS pump) goes through the steering gearbox first, then up to the hydroboost from there. The output of the hydroboost is the return line, connection circled in red below. Not sure if that's a hydroboost pump or if they're different.

EDIT: I might be wrong about that, but the hose that is attached within the red circle certainly seems to be the right length to attach to the hydroboost unit.

All the better for smoky burnouts!

my old 03 failed at burn outs. it had a locker and it had 33's on it that were 12.5 wide bfg's. no smoke shows till the back tires were bald. or on wet leaves.

but it would pull stuff damn good, i should have bet money the day we needed to drag a bob cat skid steer 10 foot out the way on loose gravel. my truck was like a dog tied to a stump, still moved that damn thing.
