I will say that the 2500 Suburbans ride beautifully.

We must have drastically different vehicles. Mine drives like a semi. Bounces, stiff as hell. Now, I have brand new shocks, and run tires at the specified 50/75 psi. And the tires are crappy Westlakes, but that wouldn't affect the bounciness of it all.

50 psi will ride like shit... drop them down to 38 to 40 you will be amazed... Its not that heavy of a vehicle compared to the 1500...

I run what the door placards call out on air pressure - 50 front, 71 rear. Stock suspension, no lift/leveling, Bilstein 4600s on all four corners. Rides like a dream, easily the same (or even better) than my '01 1500. Goodyear Duratracs, E load rating. I've been under mine, as far as I can tell, stock torsion bars in front and leaf springs in the rear. This is also the family truckster, as we take most/all of our family vacations as road trips. If the truck road like shit, my wife wouldn't tolerate our 5,000-mile two-week+ excursions.

I just recently had that point driven home for me. A buddy was looking to buy a used 2015 2500HD Silverado. It was local to me, 300 miles away from him, so I offered to scout it out and test drive it. Yes, very stiff, harsh, bouncy ride. I was genuinely surprised how big of a difference it was compared to my Suburban.

Don't know what to say, either you guys got unlucky, or I got lucky. But I wouldn't expect a significant difference in ride quality between individual vehicles, or even model years, unless both you guys have '07s and they changed something (along with adding the 6-speed) for '08.

ETA: Or perhaps there is a possibility of different spring rates on trim levels? Mine's a 3LT, just about every option, almost like an Escalade. Maybe the fleet/LS levels get different bits?

Well I know mine, the previous owner sold it [to me] because his wife didnt like the ride. It cracks me up though, I dont mind it....but I suppose I wouldnt shake a stick at a nicer ride. We have a lot of the same stuff, I'm also running bilstein 4600s all the way around, and most of my suspension is new and of good quality except the stock torsion bars. I miss her big honkin, gas guzzlin, fat ass....

Is it me, or someone is following the TIRE specified MAX pressure?
I have read a max of 80psi on sidewalls, ( 4 ply sidewalls) but ran the specified 40 psi on the truck sticker. Use the truck sticker.
My new Infiniti specs 33 psi.
My '05 Yuk XL specs 32 psi. ( But I run 43 psi on my slightly bigger Yokohama Geolander H/T 17")

I had an 04 Avalanche 2500 (same chassis as suburban) and it was firm but not outrageous. Always ran 45 psi all the way around except if pulling my Cat. Then 75 in the rear- I had airbags too and Bilstein all around.

The westlake are commercial tires I believe- hence a lousy ride. I had Michelin LTX E rated....best tire I EVER owned.
