I changed the oil about 3 weeks ago and discovered I have been using a ****** filter for who knows how long. Long story short, Walmart has great prices for mobil1 so they also sell oil filters. I discovered that I have been using the ****** ass PF48E!!! I failed to realize since I got out of the auto business that this new PF48E is a *************. Over the last year or so my L9H has been noisier. I blamed the broken manifold stud on the driver's side. I am thinking most of it is because of the ****** filter and the now gone gasket in the drain holes on the top of the filter. I switched to a UPF48R filter today, and already the engine is quieter.

P.S. The previous oil change I did I used high mileage mobil1 and at 1000 miles I was 1qt low, and I added another quart before the oil change I just performed. I went back to 'normal' mobil1 and the engine hasn't lost a drop in 1500 miles. Steer clear of high mileage mobil1.

Both were full synthetic. But for whatever reason, using high mileage I had to add 2 qts between oil changes. It was the first and only time I used it. Always before that was mobil1 synthetic and I never had to add any oil between oil changes.

She'll run even quieter with ACDelco's new oil for our aluminum engines.

May just order the factory AC Delco radiator. I've been told the 3 core Aluminum radiator I listed is a fugazi more than anything :/
Check out 1800radiator, lifetime warranty, they deliver or you can pick it up, they deliver all over, they have a main office/warehouse in Benicia, they have a small store here in Stockton I imagine they must have one in Modesto also

Oook, so everything is done and back together. You're gonna laugh, I know, but I bought the concentrate. Now I know it's a 50/50 mix. Can I pour in the concentrate then fill the jug with water and add that, or do I actually have to premix it first. I don't have an empty jug is my problem

YOU MUST CONCENTRATE WHILE FILLING WITH CONCENTRATE, AND THEN CONCENTRATE SOME MORE.....

I'm late to the party, I haven't heard of this oil. May try it on the next oil change.

I was a little concerned about the plain Mobil 1 that I'd been using since the 1980s. Learned through research that it went from a Group IV down to a Group III base oil around 2010. Seemed a little thin in the LS, motor was a little noisier after my first oil change. Oil that came out was ACDelco. One day I'm checking for updates on ACDelco's website and see new part numbers for oil listed for our trucks. They had a synthetic blend listed for RWD (presumably iron block motors) and full synthetic listed for 4x4s when using my VIN. So then began the search for the stats and numbers on this oil and was able to put together an incomplete list of numbers to compare it to other oils. In short, the viscosity numbers are higher than plain Mobil 1 and did in fact quiet down the engine and reduce oil consumption. It has numbers very similar to Shell's new Rotella Gas Truck oil.

My truck is on it's second oil change now and plan to send out a sample to Blackstone Labs when it is due for changing.
