Dude will be even more mad when the next one gets stolen. The steering wheel to pedal lock is off in 15 seconds by a kid. Lojac "locators" are for sale on dark web cheap. Kill switches are mandatory today. Doesn't stop the main way the 07-14 were stolen though. there is no wheel lock on steering column. they crank gear shift down hard to get in neutral then push it with another vehicle. simple.

Well that does it.

I’m getting the club!

10 seconds and a hacksaw is through the steering wheel and club is off. that is if it is pointed up to the apillar. if not... pipe on the end and it is pulled off in 2. worked in a body shop. seen it all.

Fuel kill switch seems like it might be the most affordable and successful option. Opinions?

Jay, I'm really glad you posted this. until researching your post on revelco, I've never heard about them. I'm enough of a believer now to put my money on the table and have one installed. Ravelco Mobile install team arrives Monday to do the work. Will report back to all my thoughts after install. Stay tuned....

Awesome. I think this is an outstanding idea. I am what some might call "skilled" in engineering like this, and if I saw/understood this device as a thief, I'd walk. Keep us posted.

I would like an automatic kill switch that activates if someone drives outside of a specified range from the key fob. That would be the cleanest solution imo.

As promised, here's an update:
Chuck Whigham came to my house to install the Ravelco Anti-theft device today. Not only is he a consumate professional, the installation is such that you cannot tell where it went into the vehicle. I peered over his shoulder a couple of times and still could not tell where the items were inserted. It's that good of an installation. I'd take pictures, but there's nothing to show. The only thing visible is the female key fob adapter to plug in the mating key so the auto can be started. Nothing needed to be reset on the XL, save for driving it a 1/2 mile so the compass and TPS systems would come back online. Now, if you LOVE your remote starting capability, you will be sad, as you lose it. I did love it and will miss it, but I'd miss my truck more if it were stolen.

For those of you in the NE who are interested in an installation, Chuck can be reached via:

he took approx 6 hours in my driveway non-stop to do the professional install and immaculately cleaned up after himself. I don't often recommend services, but I wholeheartedly recommend his services.

well at least gm updated the security, before anybody (any shop worker) could get a key cut and do a quick relearn on your vehicle, then come and steal it whenever they wanted now you have two have 2 working keys to do it

In my previous life I worked for a Rental car company, I used to go get keys cut for the nicest new cars and then come back after work and go cruise them around all night and bring them back in the morning, I could have stolen the whole lot if I had wanted to.
