Exactly!!That makes it a classic.
seriously? That very well might have been true back then but definitely not so much now! Chevy / GM has come a long way ! Just ask anyone on this forum how many original miles the rigs are going on!
Some of my decisions at 42 are questionable. Lol!Problem here is he’s only 13. What can the kid possibly know about what’s bad ass ? Let’s cut him a break ! Even at 18 I made some horrible mistakes passing up on some kick ass car deals that will haunt me till the day I die . I remember my neighbor offered Me a sweet deal on a fully functional 63 riviera ! I thought the car was nothing special back then and passed it up ! Oh damn was I wrong !!! I let a full blown classic chick magnet escape my grips ! Guess you win some you lose some
My cousin had a Willy's Jeep pickup and we ran the Rubicon trail in that thing. Took us 3 days. It is amazing how high an empty aluminum Coors beer can will fly out of that bed when you hit a large enough drop or bump. Man that was fun, if I remember right!
I've had two 4 Runners and they were great vehicles. I understand the attraction.
That’s a nice ride!
What's "twin stick" refer to?
Fyi the brake lines (and electronic throttle lag )on the GMT800 sucked too much lag to even be usable(I had a 2004 GMT800 truck before, a Silverado ) the 2006 still have the issue of too much lag time they fixed it in the GMT900 though..I am the minority here and have to agree with the 13 year old, I'd rather not drive either if it came to that body style. As a former owner and also had several family membera of a GMT400, I would NEVER own one of these again. I had a 96 suburban 2500 that was nothing but problems. The 7.4 was nice when the fuel injection wasn't messing up, and the 4L80 was nice. The rest was garbage. My family members had Silverado's and Tahoe's with the 5.7 and those were total junk. The spiders always went out, brake lines were cheap and rusted out several times, that ****** ass variable steering ******** sucked, working on the front suspension sucked, and I could go on and on. From my experience as a former owner and GM tech, the GMT400 was one of the worst truck/ SUV platforms GM ever made.
P.S. please don't hate on me too much, this is my opinion and some of the worst times of my life revolved around the time of my experiences with them, so maybe that's why I'm extra butt hurt over them, haha.
It had a manual 5 speed and a separate shift lever that change the gearing. It was pretty quick off the line.
0-60 in a quick 8.0 seconds!Do want. Not as much as, say, a Datsun 510. But an oddball/rare factory turbo AWD manual pocket rocket would be cool.
