Sorry for the delay, been silently working in the background on this project. Some of the final wiring is done for the harness, just need to get the transmission connector rewired for the 4L60 to 4L80 conversion but shouldn't be long, I hired a guy that is good with electrical so hopefully tomorrow (3/15) will be test drive day. I have a mobile welder friend here now putting the final touches on the transmission lift block, original design has it sitting too low so we fabbed up this bracket to lift the transmission 3in. On another note, the drive shaft fits perfect, so we are down to the wire on completing this Hoe!

Here's some more eye candy to hold you off:

I may be weird for saying this, but I'm betting 1st gear whine is gonna sound awesome. This engine/trans came from a motorhome, so I think you have a 4L85. Those have straight cut planetary gears, making it stronger, but noisier.
Only info I found on the difference was the number of gears in the planetary, the 85 has 5 and the 80 has 4. Other than that you can identify it by the RPO code, which we don't have access to since the RV is gone now. I agree, being from an RV I bet it's the 85 since it's rated to 18k lbs. Should be able to handle a good burnout lol

I have the VIN number
I thought about that. I may be able to run it on Advance and see if it shows what drivetrain it had. The RPO codes are specific for an individual vehicle, I don't even think it was there when we had it lol

You can contact GM customer care on here at...

[email protected]

Send them the VIN and tell them it's a vehicle you own and you need the build sheet/RPO codes.

They are pretty quick to get back to you Mon - Fri.
