I would leave them up and when she said something I would just say "yeah, I upgraded the headlights so you can see better at night Babe"... that way it throws her off the trail... lol

took her months to realize that I'd debadged it. The only reason it even clicked with her is because she saw the old letters on the counter as I was getting them ready to mail out to someone who'd bought them a few months after I took them off She's a smart woman but doesn't care about anything with the cars other than that they drive the way they're supposed to and have gas in them LOL

oh yes....thanks for clarifying. That could have caused some embarrassing confusion.

The long body is ready to roll for the road trip.

Gave her a pre-trip wash today. Cleaned out the superfluous crap that will soon be replaced by more.

Noticed the passenger front door handle was a bit loose.

I pulled the door panel to tighten up that 10mm bolt. Nothing. Just spun. Grrr...

Between the cheap plastic handle and my boy hanging on it rather than pulling out, it appears to be buggered again. And I just replaced it too.

I dropped the spare tire just to make sure the hoist worked. I showed the wife for nothing more than to let her know how it worked and where stuff was.

Can’t imagine her taking the time and effort to unscrew the tools and jack, pull the close out, lower the tire and figure out that challenging release mechanism, plus jack the truck and get the lugs broken free from the shop zip gun.

Tired of reading how that would go? Lol because you know how that would go.

It all worked and stowed properly back in place.

Tools had never been removed from the pouch.

Tire dropped and looking forward to the exhaust heat shield.

Don’t know why I waited so long. No good match for the WDT. Thought about carbon fiber and just decided to match the center cap.

A cool mod for $5.55. Worth that little change.

See how long it takes the wife to notice me drop it...er I mean put a bow tie decal on it....lol.

I hear Gruven makes/sells stainless door handle inserts that are much more robust/durable than the factory inserts. Maybe you've tried them already?

Yes I have seen those. @kbuskill is always talking about the parts for the handles and the heater core connectors. I might have to take that into account this time.
