Got a wash in. Actually washed it twice and it seems to have lifted the overspray from last weekend.

Maybe the 845 didn’t let it settle? IDK for sure, but for now it will suffice.

I did clay bar and polish the whole front end and gave it a coating of 845. Only the roof has the Rejex left on.

I found the grounding strap from my hood to my firewall and realized why I did not have it on.

The HD hood side of the bolt had snapped off and I put it my spare parts box.

So I whipped up some epoxy and let it set overnight. Voila, it turned out to be strong enough to tighten the nut.

I do not have the OEM light, but found another thread discussing the strap and lights that is kind of interesting.

Especially when looking at the years it does or doesn’t have the strap and whether or not there is or isn’t a light in there.

I have the bolt on the firewall, but my OEM hood did not come with a light.

And further differentials from the Silverado to the SUV side.

Here’s the thread.

My driver side end cowl had 2 of the 3 clips break off, making the fitment not very tight. I had a spare set so I painted the spare up and installed it with 1.5 broken clips. Grrrr....

At least the Esky antenna delete side is still a solid 3 clips for the time being.

Found a spare fog light switch at the junkyard earlier this week. Well actually I only wanted the fog light push button. I found 2 but one broke the same way mine did. It is so thin, that it just pushes through.

I got mine almost apart to change it out but it was being stubborn and moving the circuit board and then the fog lights wouldn’t turn on, so I gave up on changing the switch out for now.

I took a piece of black electrical tape, cut it into A Perfect Circle to cover the hole and much like the NNBS A/C buttons it is now covered.

Interestingly enough my fog light LED is out but the rear wiper switch 3 LEDs work.

Stupid little things can win or fail right?

Washed the long body and the Tahoe last night. After the house next door paint overspray mess on my truck twice in a few weeks back, I also clay barred the Tahoe to get ready for another polish (that makes the 3rd one since the New Year).
:nolol:

Got up early this morning and hit it with 3M Perfect-It Machine Polish, then Surf City Nano Seal and finally top coated with some Trinova Paint Sealant. She looks much better and that 2000 grit sandpaper feel is gone. Man was I pissed when that happened. And the house still sits vacant. The Suburban is next on the list to polish and coat.

And I'll be damned if the very next moment I opened the passenger door and a piece of the handle broke off. To be fair, it had been cracked when I hit it with the polisher a while back. Today was the day it finally decided to fall apart. Fuuuugggg.....need to get a new one painted now to replace that POS.
