Hello Ron,

I read from another person doing this conversion that he had a bad wire in his conversion harness that he got from Matt. His radio would not turn on or power up until the key was turned on? Have you heard or read anything about that? I was having issues with my new conversion harness also and think maybe there were some not made correctly? My issues went away when I used a different harness. This is just about the Nav Radio and not the camera. I am trying to get Joe to bring his SSV to an Emergency Vehicle show near us on the 17th so maybe we will finally get to meet up and exchange help.

Hello Mike,

the harness I have, probably the same, turns the radio on when in the accessory position or run position. I suspected your harness possibly having an issue, a while ago, not doing that, plus... your rdio seemed to turn off after a few minutes, 5 or so? That sounded like the radio not seeing the car is running or in accessory position, which is a harness issue I think.

cool you have an opportunity to compare things!! let me know how that goes.

good luck!! I'll keep a bit of an eye on here for msgs... but if you have all the "right" parts, it should be straight forward. (oh btw: if you do the navigation GPS part too... you'd have to get a GPS antenna too, they are like $26). There might be more ways to skin that cat, but this is the easiest I could find.

Ron
Do you have the part number for the antenna, my guy @ the dealership thinks he might have an extra one laying around, 26$ bucks is also super cheap so I'm not too worried about it. LMK on the part number so we can cross reference it to his "extra" parts.

Thanks yet again Ron

I bought it from ebay, but from Matt from OEM-GM-Radios, it's actually $24.50 I saw. The antenna goes in the little tray under the dash, just a little right of the center. There are videos that show how/where to install it.
Mine seems to be working just fine. (be sure you hook up the VSS sensor wire though, else the navigation screen won't update.

here's the antenna: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2007-2013-GM-GMC-CHEVY-TAHOE-YUKON-SILVERADO-NAVIGATION-RADIO-GPS-ANTENNA-OEM-/302834304042?oid=112733071500

On Matt's website it is item #6311 http://www.oemradios.com/parts.php

hope that helps,

Ron

Hi Joe,

This video shows where the VSS wire needs spliced in and where the GPS antenna goes, stock location.

Hello Joe,

This is the Factory one that I used in my truck. It costs more but it is the factory part and Matt also sells them:

I believe they are the same thing, just not with the "tray", I used a piece of double sided tape to stick it in the tray in the dash.
