2011 Denali,
Can the open height of the liftgate be adjusted? It's low enough to catch me in the head (I'm a little tall) and I know it's going to one of these days. And I have room at the garage door.

If it's not going all the way up you need new gas shocks most likely.

The only other thing you might be able to do is get longer shocks but they need to collapse enough to close it.

Never heard of a longer shock but I’m interested if you locate some. My guess is off a a hatch that’s swings 90 degrees.

They sell any length of shock you desire at your local auto parts, you'll have to look at the collapsed length and extended length as well as weight they'll hold up. I've done it with projects but never on something with mounts already installed. I myself don't even own a NNBS SUV so I can't be of any more help.

Perhaps you could keep the same shocks but move both mounts closer to the hinge... this would allow the door to open more if the hinges would allow.

You would have to move both the mount on the door and the body the same distance in order to maintain the closed shock length.

I think before I went to any of this trouble I would take a look and see how much clearance you have between the CHMSL spoiler and the hinges when the gate is open.

Interesting points. After hitting my coconut of the corner a few times I’ll find some with the same mounting ends and give it a go.

pretty sure the height is set low so you short people can still reach up and hit the button, too bad it's not adjustable like the new ones
