Just picked up this new to me Suburban today!

One previous owner, 99,000 original miles, zero rust.

Here's the old build log of my Tahoe - http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/2002-lt-music-daily-one-story-ends-and-another-begins.95324/

mom - 2004 Denali w/ 160k
dad - 2001 Suburban w/ 109k
sister - 1999 S10 Blazer w/ 150k
me - 2002 Tahoe w/ 178k
me - 2004 Suburban w/ 99k

I have a lot of parts from the Tahoe that I'll be pulling, but here's the tentative list moving forward:

1) Have tint put on (5% on all windows, 35% on windshield)
2) Remove the Running Boards
3) Remove front bug guard
4) Remove badges / emblems
5) Cold-Air-Intake
6) Aftermarket exhaust (thinking Flowmaster 40)
7) Swap the new H3 Hummer rims and 285/75/r16 tires
8) Either Air Lift 1000s or Z71 Springs in the rear
9) Pioneer AVH 4900BS Double Din
10) Pioneer Backup Camera
11) 2 SSA Evil 6.5s per door, plus new SSA Tweeters
12) Taramps 400x4 channel amp somewhere
13) Big 3 Upgrade
14) HD Hood Swap
15) Z71 Roof Rack
16) Tinted Tail Lights
17) New Headlights
18) Brush Guard
19) Tow Mirrors
20) Potentially Plasti-dip the whole vehicle Black (not sure on this, gotta see how the tint and new rims look on the blue body)

Probably missing some stuff, but this should be a good start point

Yessir >:) super excited to have this fresh canvas!

here are some more pictures as she sits currently

Has cloth interior, with the 3rd seat in the front row, which I LOVE.

I'd been looking to grab one of these from junkyards or craigslist forever, but they all seem to sell for $400+ in Michigan.

Hopefully I'll have the running boards removed tonight, and be able to start working on debadging it.

Nice find and love the fleet of trucks. Don't tell me though that you do not have a Tech2 though to help work on all of them. hehehe

What's a Tech2?

Crying tears of joy I hope! It's probably my favorite part of the truck lol.

Anyways, didn't get what I thought I would get done today.

Working on getting the Tahoe back to stock so I can sell it ASAP

Removed the HD hood, and swapped tires and rims between the vehicles.

The new Suburban needs rear brakes, but we decided to do them later since it was a hot muggy day.

Got the new vehicle insured and with legal plates, so tomorrow I'll be calling around to find a place with a quick turnaround time on tint

Pulled the Spectre 9900 CAI today and will swap it eventually.

nah, the first times I did Plasti-Dip on the Tahoe were very learning oriented.

at first I only did the bottom half of the grill, then I went back and did the top, so there's some weird bubbling and disconnect in the middle

plus I didn't realize the importance of layers, so if I went to remove it, it'd probably be a pain in the ass

whoever buys the truck can take care of that:p

in other news, I guess I got lucky last time and found the only shop in West Michigan that'll do windshield tint

I just called 11 different places and none of them will touch 35% tint on the windshield for liability reasons, telling me stuff like it's a felony

guess it's time to go back to my mom and pop shop and wait 4 days again

got the CAI swapped between vehicles, but not much else done

spent most of the day pulling wire and door panels from the Tahoe

IMG_0394.JPG

After spending about an hour on the phone calling places, I finally found a guy who operates a tint business on the side who agreed to do all my windows 5% and the shield 35%, for $380 out the door on Monday afternoon

Nah Tahoe is Tan / leather, Suburban is Grey / Cloth.

I would've kept the door panels, but the 2nd row doors are different, because the Suburban windows can roll all the way down, while Tahoes only roll halfway

Looking good already.

Yeah I'm super happy with how it's coming along!

Honestly I was never a fan of the Tahoe. I've always wanted a Suburban but I knew parking on campus would be a nightmare, so I settled with the short body.

Now that I'm graduated and won't have to be near cities (hopefully) I'm super stoked to have the extra room!

Got a couple weeks of backpacking and camping planned that this vehicle is going to be perfect for.

IMG_0513.JPG

The color officially appears to be "Dark Ming Blue"

Hmmm, just found a 2005 Z71 with 62k for $9k in Bermuda Blue locally. Been thinking I'd have one lowered and one lifted

Seems a bit pricey in my area, but I'm always an advocate for more Chevies out there :)

Is the rack staying?

Got a Z71 Roof Rack for the Suburban already stowed away.

We pulled it from the Junkyard for $30 back in February, originally for my dad's Suburban, but he's gonna let me have it!

It was on a Yukon XL... which don't come with Z71 racks, so it was put there by the owner lol. Kinda cool
