I live in a frozen hell with the worst and longest winters. And i never use my wiper. Once it builds up I'll wash it when I gas up. Then it still stays clean for weeks. It's fine cause you only need to use a wiper maaaaybe once a week.
It's all on the user tho. Either way I don't think the wiper looks horrible, I just like a smooth rear end personally.

did some testing and found the culprit to my brake lights and cruise control.
it was the brake light switch.

replacement part at local auto parts store was only $20.
total swap took me about 30 minutes once i figured how it finagled itself in there with the metal clip.

old one

sure nice to have cruise control again and not to mention not worrying about a cop having a reason to pull me over with no brake lights. cheap/easy fix. i'm learning my way around this beast :)

Glad you got it back in order for a cheap price and such a simple fix. Always a win win :chewie:

So I know you have ideas rolling in your head but there's always the tails that I have that look great and just take the oem halogens bulbs. Simple and still classy :D

either that or save up and get one of these new "neon tube" style lights i have seen. not quite sure. i know those OEM rears are killin me though haha

The new c-bar style lights, I was looking at those same ones. My cousin has the same style on his Silverado and they look amazing. And they would match your u-bar headlights nicely.
For now you can candy the amber on your stocks. Looks 100x better.

Custom lower signal/driving lights.

So, i have OEM, amber aftermarket and then clear/chrome ones and none of them really felt right to me.
In my mind, if ANZO actually made a pair that matched the headlights, they would look something like this.
So i did research on baking headlights also got some good tips from @05Single and got busy.

What ya cookin for dinner, Pete? Headlights!

d214.jpg

I did mine a little different. The first time i baked them at 220 degrees for 5 minutes. And i couldnt even budge them apart with a kitchen knife. So i threw them back in for another 8 minutes, then shoved the butter knife in at a seam and pulled. It slowly began to release and finally she opened up like a clamshell.

d215.jpg

Did the same for the second one. 220 5 mins, then 220 8 mins and they opened. Here's both sets. (the reflectors i bought at the hardware store. you'll see why soon)

Prepping the sections i want to paint match to the ANZO flat black.

d217.jpg

To make the amber reflector match, i made a cardboard template, then used that to shape it with the Dremel to fit nice and snug into the shell.

Taped off the clear chrome corner

The ANZO's have a dark but flat type of coating. So i decided to use SEM which is great for heat and wear and tear and has no gloss to it. Painted

starting to make sense now?

d221.jpg

Put them all back together and ran a bead of silicone adhesive all around the seam and let them sit.

Installed...

Pics!

Here's an angle to show the reflectors line up great with the ANZO's amber

Overall. for my first bake. And a set of $20 lights. They turned out pretty good. They are the best of all 3 worlds (black, clear and amber) and match the Anzo's much better. Let me know what you think
