Everything with the new trans and driveline parts seems to be holding up well so....ordered a 3.375 pulley for the Whipple today to replace the 3.75 that came with it. Boost should go from 6 to 9 psi. Woo-hoo. Justin at BB said I'll be at the limit of my PCM as far as airflow. Possibly could go to a 2-bar tune, whatever that is, if I want more. I'm thinking I'll be good. Thing is already a beast.

How much hp & tq are you looking at with the new pulley?

I honestly don't know. I plan on a dyno run but last time I checked with the one AWD dyno I found so far had a 2 month waiting list. I'll have to do some more looking or go ahead and book a run in December.

Make sure your doing pulls in third in not in od.you don't want to throw that driveshaft

Question, what fuel pump are you rolling with?
Stock. According to Whipple and BB it's fine. The 5.3's and pickups need bigger ones. Justin said I'll be ok with the pulley I ordered but if I go smaller I'll have to look into a couple things, fuel pump probably being one of them as well as injectors and then there's the airflow limit with the PCM. I probably wont do that since an injector swap means pulling the blower. There's this one bolt on the fuel rail I can't quite get with the blower on. If it wasn't a DD I might go farther but I need it to be reliable. Besides, my last tank of gas , which was mostly short trips around town and of course I was on it constantly, netted me 7.7 MPG. I did a highway run a couple weeks ago and got almost 11 but that was entirely highway.

Was your rig a flex fuel vehicle or no?

rough avg is for every 1# of boost increase, one could net 15-20HP

i hope to be testing this theory on mine in near future hoping to get ~4# increase

I would say there’s quite a few variables and that would depend on the size of your engine to start with. I had 8-9 lbs to start but after cam and headers it’s 6. I am dropping 3 pulley sizes do I should be back at 9 but other variables have come into play- the cam and headers. Less restriction, more airflow, more HP.

I'm thinking the same thing ninja is thinking. I can't believe a stock non flex fuel pump can support a 2300 Whipple to the level u pushing it. What's the a/f ratios look like when u get into it?

I just realized mine is running rich at 11.3 when I get into it. I'm going to datalog it and send it to Justin. I thought my struggle to get 10mpg city was bad but 7.7..damn..I really want to hit a dyno and see where my tune is..

I need a lean cruise tune lol..

I was at 10.3 at WOT right after the cam and headers: Justin adjusted my tune so now I'm at 11 which he said is about right. He wants to see where it's at after the new pulley and said he might have to go to a 2-bar tune whatever that is, due to the limitations of my PCM. I hope it doesn't require a new fuel pump at that point but if it does, I'm going to make an access panel under the carpet in the rear. F dropping the tank.
