Exactly we can plan it all out, pre-assemble the bag brackets and supports, their placement etc...I don't think you have that spare under your ride anymore, so obviously that is where the tank and compressor will be going.

Spare tire went bye-bye in 04 so I figure thats where the tank will go

If you're gonna be driving this alot, I would fab up and thin steal skid/protection plate to cover the compressor(s) and tank.....just my $.02

i dont know if you thought about this but i would run dual compressors or a edc. You really dont have to protect the tanks and comps though.

Yea dual compressors is a good idea for sure.....helps fill the tank faster and if one goes, you still have one that's operational.

I'm ordering 7" springs friday and my shorter bilsteins came in yesterday. Wait until you see my truck 5/7 static before you start ordering stuff
btw edc - engine driven compressor. I run a single electric for backup too.

sick cant wait to see the pics. Like max said its an engine driven compressor that runs of the rpm. IT fills the tank(s) fast as hell. Suicide doors sells a kit so does a couple of other places. Its pricey for sure but it comes with everything you need. I think ima be running my 2 comps i had before for back ups.
Only bad thing is you have to put oil in it like once a month or so, but hell that only takes 5 minutes.

alright here is an education...

If your wanting to install air ride in place of the springs then that is NOT the kit for you. If your wanting to do it the simple way then you will need to fabricate upper and lower cupps for the bags to mount to. And these will bolt into the spring pocket. Doing it this way will get you at the most a 7" drop aired out. and you will not have a low ride height. its gonna be like closer to a 4" drop at ride height. Now if your wanting to tuck tire, lay frame and go all out, (like I am) you will need new rear links (either 2,3,4 or ,6 wishbone triangulated, parallel) a step notch, cut out the floor, & new wheel tubs. Now if your doing all this work to the back; the front is gonna need the UCA's moved up 1.5"s, new lower control arms flipped uppers and welded on bag mounts.

Now on the valve set-ups I always always run 8, Not for the fact of FBSS but its to isolate any air transfer that might happen if you run only 4 valves, air transfer=more body roll. at the minimum you could do 6 valves to save a few bucks but what is $60.00 more if your already spending thousands for a air ride set-up??

Like stated before an EDC is a engine driven compressor they are fast for filling big tanks or multiple tanks, but the kits are expensive, I mean the complete bolt on EDC's I sell are like 1k but they come with absolutely everything to mount it on your engine. But as far as compressors I would do a minimum of 2 Viair 380's @200psi on a 5 gallon tank. Oh and I do sell and install air so if needed I can sell you whatca need. LMK if you got anymore questions

do 8 valves. then you can set the truck up so it can sit level if you have more weight on one side compared to other and such.

call suicide doors up and ask them questions. imo they are the best and can guide you in a good direction

You have a front and rear bags or just rear?

What problems did you run into?

have front and rear with 4 valves but something went wrong with the front release valve so my front is stationary right now until i get the new one in, but the back it totally functional, should be able to put a full video up in about 2 weeks when i get the new valve in as well as a dakota digital read out...

---------- Post added at 01:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:27 PM ----------

and the only problem i ran into was mounting the rear bags and getting the air line to go to it cus it is a tight fit, i will put up some pictures of what im talking about in a little bit

Holy Involved............

Adam thanks for the crash coarse and Max I'm not gonna have the scratch for this until early 2010 so I'll have plenty of time to check your ride outbefore I make a decision. Do you think I could go 5/7 with my 24's and the truck still be daily driveable??

Adam so there is no such thing as a "bolt on kit" (I know there is welding involved)

What do you think I'm looking at $ wise for a bag set-up like fatnlowtahoe of ssmurdered and is this something that can be installed over a weekend or does it definately require alot of shop time. As much as I would like to go crazy and lay frame like you, Mob and Trick this is my daily driver and I'm not looking to get that involved

Thanks for the help guys :Handshake:

id say about a good 2500-3500 maybe cheaper if you can get some good deals. I would venture to say give it a good week. That way you dont rush and screw up something stupid and easy.

Since your not going all crazy it really shouldnt be that bad. Thats why i said give it a good week so you can take your time with it.
