I have not the slightest clue where to start but have been looking at 2 different kits

1. 8 valve kit with notch and 4 link
http://www.avsontheweb.com/product.php?productid=536&cat=505&page=1

2. 4 valve kit with notch and 4 link
http://www.avsontheweb.com/product.php?productid=215&cat=505&page=1

Whats the major difference between the 2 besides the # valves?
Whats the advantage to having 8 valves instead of 4?
Are these good prices?
Are the kits complete or will I need to buy additional parts?
I will be needing shocks soon so if I go with bags what shocks will I need to work properly with the kit?
How hard is it to install the kit, ie...is it a weekend project or will it require shop time?

This stuff sounds like French to me any help will be greatly appreciated :Handshake:

Damn man I can't help much but I would have just went with a 3/5 drop, or maybe even some Qa1 springs, but airbags is def. a steup up from that and will ride better!
Preety sure you will need some additional parts but worst case scenario you will be looking at $2500 otd about!
And yes you will need some shop time as you MAY not e able to tackle all this on your own.

Well quick talkin about it and do it already :slap:

That kit should get you on your way. I'd look into a possible c-notch though incase you want to go lower in the future....

C-notch = the notch they put in your frame above the rear axle housing (it looks like a "C")

I say notch it that way it can lay low............but your floor in the back most likely has to be cut to do it lol.....

Not looking to go all "Trick" crazy and not have my truck for years at a time. I just want to tuck a little tire. Do you think that kit will be everything I need to do so?

Plus whats the difference between the 4 valve and 8 valve?

the difference between 4 and 8 valves is with 8 you can do front back and side to side but with 4 you can only do front and back cus for every one valve that puts air in you have to have another to let it out....but that is a very very involved project, you would have to tub the rear and cut the back floor board up, shorten your rear end.etc. etc. etc. etc its alot of work and will take a few weeks to do, just doing a basic Air Ride Technologies kit on my truck took me 4 days, cus i always run into some sort of problem... but if you were to pay someone to put that kit on your looking around 1500 to 2 grand just to put that kit on if you buy it...avs has good prices tho, but if you want to do something yourself and it not take too long, get the Air Ride Technologies kit

You only need to cut your floors if the rear end housing is going to hit it or go into the cab farther. Since you have 24" rims, you should be able to tuck some tire with that 4 valve kit and not have to c-notch it since you aren't wanting to go all "MOB" on it and slam the shit out of it. The bags take the springs' place, you'll still have your shocks and all that. I think it'll look good.

My brother has a 68 c-10 that he notched the frame with a bolt on kit that gave the rear end 2-3" of additional travel and you can keep the stock bed floor, it won't lay frame, but he's not going for that either....

I was waiting for you to pop in here......I'm gonna need the help :Handshake:

4 valves seems to be the best option for what I'm looking for.

You think you and I could put it together over a weekend

Oh I don't know, never done one before, if we don't need to notch the frame I would think we could do it. I've got everything we could possibly need. My welding skills aren't top notch, so I would have one of my welders do the welding, that way it is done by the best.

The wiring/plumbing of the system will take the longest (from what I've read). Just take your time and do a little research on your ride and find the best place to mount the tank and compressor, figure out the layout of the bag mounts and the 4-link, sketch up your own drawing of the air-line runs and wire runs (tend to make it easier to read than the actual instructions, but base these from the instructions). Thorough planning is key to a smooth install, you don't plan anything and you'll end up fighting it.

It should all work pretty nice. You should be able to tuck some tire, hell Titanium tucked a little tire with his 3/5 drop in the beginning but raised his due to tire rub.....I'm thinking Max would tuck tire with those 24" rims....either way, it should look pretty nice, and if you set it all up right, you should have a smooth ride too...

Exactly we can plan it all out, pre-assemble the bag brackets and supports, their placement etc...I don't think you have that spare under your ride anymore, so obviously that is where the tank and compressor will be going.

If you go to steve meade's website and checkout his escalade build, you can get an ideal of some of this, that escalade is bagged and you can see the tank/compressor mounting..

It'll be a good test run for when you bag yours ;) Seems pretty straight foward and you already know how to remove the entire interior so wiring shouldn't be an issue :Handshake:
