I also did the homemade parking brake bypass. Just wired in a toggle switch from the ground to the parking brake wire, which is green in my application.

Drilling a hole in your interior to mount a switch is like getting a tattoo. It's not something you should do without much deliberation. But, it's an idea that has to come to you on it's own. I'm sure that one day, Tony will have a revelation and find the most perfect location for that switch.

So, Tony, that fenderwell gap about which you said "more on that later"- spill the beans, bub. :D

I'm feeling the love:buttkick:
So.... I hate chrome and I've always liked the Denali rear bumper. After scouring cl, I found a Denali rear bumper painted in my color, SCORE! Had to drive 2hrs, again, and to another state, but it was worth it. Got it for a steal too. IMAG0044.jpg IMAG0088.jpgSince I was removing the rear bumper I thought I'd clean up the rear hitch. Had some surface rust and flaking paint in spots. IMAG0087.jpg
Came out pretty good and is still holding up. IMAG0094.jpg
What a difference! WP_20160117_016.jpg
I also bought a color matched rear handle from Scottyboy. Thx! I then finished it all off with a hitch cover. Looking really good.

So I saw a few threads that had some guys throwing on an HD grill from the 00-02 Silverado. I thought it looked pretty damn good. A little different without really sticking out too much. I like that. So off I went, searching. Not very easy to find. Searched for awhile with no luck. After some time I gave up. Went to a jy one day on a fluke, BAM! There it was! An HD grill. Was bolted to a commercial Silverado with a utility body, sweet! Except for a small corner where the chrome was peeling, it was in great shape. IMAG0248.jpg
After I got it home. IMAG0249.jpgI read that I needed to trim the bottom of the grill to make it fit while using my stock Tahoe bumper. IMAG0260.jpgI also had to remove this tab behind the grill. It was pushing the grill out. IMAG0259.jpgOnce the lower edge was trimmed enough, around 1"- 1 1/2", everything fit like a glove. IMAG0262.jpg

But, since I'm not a fan of chrome, plus there's a corner of the grill that the chrome is lifting, out comes the dip. I thought it was too much black, so I tried a red bow tie. I hated it! Stuck out too much for my liking, like Rudolph the red nosed reindeer. IMAG0267.jpg IMAG0269.jpg
I rocked that for about 2 weeks until I finally blacked everything out. IMAG0709.jpg
A little better, until I figure out something better.
