A z71 tahoe is cheaper than an LT tahoe? I"m talking about a NBS like tybardy.

when I bought my 06 yukon I went looking at chevys too. The book they gave me listed the trims in order. Base, LS, Z71, LT, LTZ. This was in 06 when the suburban was avail in LTZ. the LT trim was about 1500 dollars more than the z71. As the z71 has less standard interior features than an LT, It just has some suspenion and exterior changes.

According to the book z71 came standard with the 5.3, leather cd player, onstar etc, heated seats, etc was optional. LT came standard with the LT smooth suspension, heated seats, 6 cd changer, power adjustible peddles, etc.

Then LTZ had everything but nav and dvd as optional. Plus a 6.0 and awd.

when the new new body style came out z71 was not avail until late and its just an added option to the LT, its not its own trim level any more.

So the nnbs changed. I always thought that 01-06 models had separate trim levels. I also thought that the z71 trim level was higher than a LT model. Basically, base model, ls, lt, z71

it may have been different for the last model year. But this info is from my book about chevys in 06.

I think the z71 nbs were assembled in mexico. LS I got is us assembled. That probably has to do with weird prices.

nothing really... I think I have it all, just saw this thread turning into a 12 page rant...

HOWEVER, I do have a question regarding non-HID lighting for the bumper lights

Where can I score a bulb to replace the orange bulb in the bumper light? autozone up the street from me has nothing

wait wait... actually... what heat rating does everyone like?

From what I understand, 5000k is the brightest it gets... the higher it goes from there, it gets a little bluer but a little dimmer... I was thinking about going 6000k, maybe 7000k.

I want a slight blue tint to my lights... anyone have pictures of their 35k - 5000k setups?

Any auto parts store should have an orange 3157 bulb. I guess the zone was just out. Now would be the time for some leds. I have some clear corners ordered and I'm putting leds in the parking lights.

Sorry about the ****** quality. It's very foggy outside and the street lights were getting in the way.

I was directly in front of them in the 4th pic. They shine blue on the road but are bright enough to be flashed by other drivers. That only happens if there is no air in the rear shocks. After the mailman delivers my packages, I will get pics of them in the tahoe. I have 8ks for the lows and fogs. BTW, it's the wife's tahoe and your truck inspired her to do some mods to it. I am in the minitruckin scene so a modded vehicle is natural to me. She wants her truck to look like yours and it looks awesome.

Making hid's intentionally look like poseur bulbs is nearly unfathomable to me.

Blue bulbs completely defeat the point of HIDs... more light, and whiter light. Why make them WORSE in good weather and completely useless in poor weather?

Plus the bluer they are, the more you are gonna get flashed, the more glare you are causing oncoming drivers, the more attention from people with badges and people with crowbars... it's all lose-lose.

Fo r a while I had to wear sunglasses at night (corey hart) because of all the ricers with their 6k 8k and 12k (baby blue, super blue, purple) HIDs and all the goobers with $50 blue bulbs cruising around. Thank god for the recession... cleared that crap up pretty effectively.

I don't see how they can be any worse than a halogen bulb regardless of what color they are. I have never been pulled over for them in any vehicle I own. I have never had anyone use a crowbar because of them. I very rarely get flashed. They wouldn't blind people if the headlights are aimed correctly. If the rear of my truck is lower than the front, then I may get flashed. It is usually never that way, but it had been a few times. This thread wasn't started to hate on other peoples choices in lights. It was started for Ty to learn a few things about them and figure out what the best choice was for him.

sorry, was in a hurry to post that. was talking more about having them pulse on and off. i park in a park parking garage and oftentimes my lights will come on and then turn off as i leave the garage within a few seconds.

I flip my high beams on before I start the truck, and then back to low beams so they don't flash on and off. Sometimes I just flip the highs on and turn the lights off when the truck starts if it's not dark out, but is where I start it. (if that makes sense.)

To the OP I have 35w 5000k in my lows/fogs and love it. I have DDM's in the trucks and ebay brand in the car.
