Hello All. I replaced my 2009 LTZ wheels with a LTZ set from a 2016. I tried to relearn the TPMS and it doesn't sense the new wheels. I stopped by a local tire shop and the tech tried to use his programmer, then told me that the sensors were bad. Are these sensors not compatible with my 2009?

Hello All. I replaced my 2009 LTZ wheels with a LTZ set from a 2016..... Are these sensors not compatible with my 2009?

I recently installed some NNBS wheels on my NBS Yukon. In doing so I learned that while they all operate on the same 315hz frequency the BCM protocols are different between 05-06 and 07-14. I would assume that since the sensors in the wheels that I purchased had an upper match at '14 that a new protocol was introduced in' 15.

I purchased new AC Delco TPMS sensors from Amazon and had them installed and balanced a a local tire shop.

I bought a set of 2016 LTZ Suburban wheels for my 2007 Yukon XL and had Discount Tire install them so i could pay for the certificates on the new tires(they only had 16 miles on them) they unbolted my wheels and installed the new set. i was in and out in 20 mins. TPMS works with the sensors in the new wheels

Well, an actual working installation trumps my semi-educated guess of an explanation. I guess that's what I get for assuming.

Did they swap your tmps with the old ones, or leave the 2016 sensors installed?

2016 Sensors will not work on a 2007-2014. I had the same issue, I asked the dealership as well as several reputable tire shops and they all confirmed they're non-compatible. I'd just have a shop replace them or pull your old sensors and install them on the 2016 setup. As for me, I went back to my stock Z71 rims since they looked better IMO.

Thank you! I plan to get replacements.
