Scanner for 2006 GMC Yukon Denali

I have a question about bi-directional OBDII scan tools for a 2006 GMC Yukon Denali. I installed a new throttle body and swapped on some new 2021 GMC wheels with good TPMS sensors. I researched scanners extensively and purchased a TOPDON AD500. It wouldn’t let me change anything and their tech support told me that my vehicle wasn’t compatible even though their tech documentation said it was. I returned it and purchased a Foxwell NT530 for GM and it wouldn’t let me change anything either. Their support sucks as you have to send emails to China but I was told my vehicle isn’t compatible, again, even though their tech documentation said that it is. Has any one else experienced this? I have asked for a reason and searched but I can’t find anything. Is there a reason for this that I’m just not aware of? Much thanks in advance

what is it you are trying to do with the scanner???...your 2021 TPMS may be the wrong frequency to work with your truck (I know my 2024 wheel TPMS are wrong for my 2005 Yukon Denali)...

I bought a TS508 for the TPMS sensors and it works well. My kit had like 4 sensors each for the 2 frequencies, but you can order the tool by itself.

As @SilverSport inquired, the trigger frequency on the TPMS sensors on the 2021 version is different than the 2006 version, and they are not compatible with your truck.

I'm not sure specifically what you are trying to do when you get the incompatibility issue with your scanner, but if it related to setting the TPMS sensors, it won't work (but, not because of a scanner incompatibility).

I mostly want a scanner that can diagnose and make changes if needed. I have a basic scanner that will read codes and clear codes but that is all. When I changed the throttle body I had watched a video and the guy used a Snap-on scan tool to do the throttle body re-learn. I was just hoping to find a scanner that works with my Yukon. Since both TOPDON and Foxwell told me that my vehicle is not compatible with any of their products I was wondering if this is a known issue.

the 2021 tpms sensors are 100% NOT COMPATIBLE with your 2006, so that may be part of the issue.
also even with a tech2 (the dealer diagnostic tool) there is very little that you can change permanently, plenty that you can change for testing purposes but that is the same for any bi-directional scanner.
so you might be a on a wild goose chase depending on your intended goals which you did not provided aside from trying to make non compatible tpms sensors work. which is a dead end.

Is your compatibility issue just with the TPMS sensors, or with the bidirectional functions?

As @Doubeleive noted, TPMS sensors for the new models are not compatible with an NBS series vehicle.

I’m casually shopping for a bi directional scanner. I’ve used a friends Autel Maxipro 900 a few times and I liked how functional it was. I don’t like the $1,3XX price tag for how little I’ll use it. Is there anything similar or equally awesome but less expensive?
