Here they are finished, with a couple night time shots. They really light up a large area on the ground.

I want to do the same with the LEDS but under the running boards. Never thought about putting it under the door. Are they wired to the door latch?

Ebay. Be sure to get waterproof ones. These came on a roll of about 15' and I cut them to length and soldered leads at those points so I could make as many separate strips as needed. Peel and stick on the back. Did all 4 doors and still have 4' left. They're wired to my interior door lights which come on with the dome lights or keyless entry.

Dont you have interior door lights? That's the easy way if you do since the wiring for them is right there. The longest run of wire was the rears and it was only about 16". The fronts were only about 8-10" of wiring.

That looks so clean. Lights up that ground nicely. I wanna do the same but on the fence of how I wanna execute it.
I said before when I worked at a bmw dealership I seen lots, mostly 3 series, with that same courtesy light mod. It looked good but while working in the service dept I saw a lot of them were coming off or hanging down because the tape let go. I would insist on adding some thin 3m double sided tape.
But also I'm guessing most those guys didn't do a suffeciante job of cleaning before installing. Id see a $65k m3 with some ghetto installs from the owner lol.
Hell you probably didn't even have to take off the panels. Could've fished it through the door light.

Yeah I cleaned the paint with denatured alcohol and then preheated the metal with a heat gun before sticking the lights on. If I have problems I'll use 3M VHB tape. I did take the door panels off; I used heat shrink on all the wires up to the point where they joined the factory wiring which was wrapped in black tape. I peeled the factory wrapping back and inserted my wiring in and then re-wrapped it. It looks factory that way. Soldered joints of course.

Yea youre one of the guys I would never doubt in mechanical work, I would trust you to work on my truck and that's saying a lot lol. just giving you a heads up cause I know the tape that product come on those are sometimes not as strong as the 3m.

Damn those lights are badass!color looks excellent and lights up like a Christmas tree! Sweet mod! I'm gonna do that similar but underside of my running boards. Will be a hell of a lot harder to run wire for me though haha.

I might do the running boards too. Not sure if it will look like a ricer though, might wait to see someone else do it first!

Mine will only be for at night when the puddle lights come on. That's what im gonna tie mine into. So it won't be all ghetto status lol. That or the domes. Another member did it on his 15 and 16 Denalis and it looks pretty sweet.

Oh yeah, never thought of wiring to the puddle light or dome circuit. I was thinking of tying to the running lights. Decisions decisions.

@Red Rocket , I may do some ungerglows later on. But I think I'd want those on a separate switch.
